Welcome to my page dedicated to the National Institute of Chile. My name is Christian Lillo and I feel great pride to have had the opportunity to study in this great school, so rich in history and tradition.

Even now after a decade of having graduated, I still remember with a little nostalgic those days of suffering during my school years.

The National Institute was founded on August 10, 1813 and in many aspects it identifies with the trajectory of Chile's history... with only its name it is capable of bringing back thousands of memories from the past.

To tell the history of the old school, is to talk about a constant presence within our country's history. In fact, the National Institute is the first school born during the birth of Chile's Independence, for this reason its Anthem says: "... for it's the Institute's great fortune to be the first spark of light of the nation."

The National Institute opened its doors when the Independence of Chile was just starting and its classrooms have seen since then the formation of many of the country's most important citizens. Sixteen of them came to become Presidents of Chile and many others have made their names well known in the fields of politics, literature, science and arts.

Over 4,000 students form part of this community making it the biggest all men's school in the country. Each year it takes great pride on achieving the highest scores during the Academic Aptitude Test, which every graduate must take in order to continue their education in University.
