The College Page
This is the page made to show you that Matt actually is applying to
someplace nice. He has links to all the colleges he applied to and a few
he didn't apply to, but are here for your enjoyment. Down the list, we
see our first contestant is, Cornell University. Click on the picture to
go to their home page and have a campus tour. Matt is applying to the college
of Arts and Sciences here at Cornell.
It
is the most discriminative school he has applied to in the terms of how
many people it accepts. The university only accepts 34% of their applicants.
Isn't that nice. (Oh yeah!)
The second college Matt wishes to attend is the toughest to get into,
the college of William and Mary.
He
applied here under university studies, (which means undecided major to
all you college term illiterate people out there). Their acceptance of
students hangs around the 53% level. Again, click on the picture to visit
the home page and find out what William and Mary can do for you.
The fourth college we'll be looking at today has the second lowest level
of acceptance of all the colleges here. A whopping 38% acceptance. Go visit
The University of Virginia. The University of Virginia was founded by Thomas
Jefferson. After being educated at The college of William and Mary,
Jefferson
wanted to give back to the community, (like I know anything). It is a very
competitive school and is hard to get into. Johann Hukari, from earlier
mention, is applying to UVA. How are your SAT's?
The next College on our tour resides in Blacksburg, Virginia. It is
one of the leaders in engineering and architecture.
Come
visit the Virginia Polytechnic institute and state university, also known
as Virginia Tech. Matt has already been accepted to Virginia Tech, as did
his friends Coelle and Johann. Virginia Tech's acceptance of applicants
is over 75%. Over 19,000 undergraduates attend. I will be attending VT
next fall semester so you better like the place!
This University, I have not applied to. It is most known for it's music
program and the high quality marching band that resides
there,
the Marching Royal Dukes. James Madison University. His friends Debbie,
PJ and Woman aspire to attend JMU and be clarinet, tuba and French
horn majors respectively. "I have never heard a man with a goatee
play as well as PJ can. Nor have I heard a woman with a goatee play clarinet
as well as Debbie." says Matt at an attempt at humor. This attempt
will be short lived because Debbie doesn't appreciate those sorts of things.
Matt goes on, "This is because most clarinets are girls, and guys
with goatee's belong in the back row with the low brass. (Gotta respect
the LOW BRASS!) Can you guess what instrument I play?"
