Birthday and place: November 29 in San Jose, CA...and I'm a Sagitarrius:)))

Past, Present & Future living space: Past: born & raised in the hell most people call San Jose, CA, then, from mid '96 until mid '98 I was in Santa Barbara, California; from mid '98 to mid '00 I lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada...NOW...I'm in Hell again.

Height: 5'7.5" ish

Heritage: Portuguese (Açorean) - American

Schoolin': Let's see here...high school there was Notre Dame SJ where I graduated in 1996, First two years of university I went to University of California, Santa Barbara, but I pretty much hated my life there, so I decided to go somewhere else...which is where I graduated from with a BA in Psychology...York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada :) I absolutely LOVED it there! Snow, plenty of hockey to make me a happy person for a day or so, a metropolitan city and great people!
(The UCSB & York links are to pix, not their homepages!). I hope to go on to graduate school either on the East Coast (New York, Philly or Boston), Arizona, UCLA, or I'll go back to Canada (Toronto, Edmonton, or Vancouver) to earn a clinical or health psychology degree and go on to become a sport psychologist (yes, there IS a such field!!!!!).

Work: After Care Specialist at the San Jose Family Shelter. I assist families who have just moved out of the shelter in keeping their housing and with their life in general (jobs, family, food, etc....). Previously, I was an assistant and a domestic violence counselor.

Car: My baby PatrickOwen, a '95 "mystic teal" camero.

Mentors/People I respect: Ellen Cohen (psych teacher in high school/current good pal at work), Joe Bonvie (semi-pro goalie/close-to-his-PhD in foresic psychology/all-around-kewl-freakin'-guy!), Celest Benn (psychologist who has been there for me through it all...and her awesome family!!!), my grandpa rose (Poppy), my momma, anyone who can write their own creative and original music and doesn't care about what others think about it, so they just play for the love of it (whoaaaa...mouth full!!!)

Random loves: Monkeys are the greatest single aMiNal ever!!!!, my dog (Cleo...and g'ma's dog Chili Pepper), my retarded cat Pulga (Portuguese for flea cuz he was infested when we found him in the yard!), chickens and duckies (to all my Dawgs: DUCK LIPS).

Mischief I get into: spending way too much money (of which I don't have) on CD's (I've got about 400+ now I think), going to hockey games and concerts, rollerblading, surfing, pick-up hockey, table hockey (Bill Guerin on Team USA is THE MAN! LOL), air hockey, watching rollerblading, skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding (which I will learn how to do one of these bloody days!!), sports & concert photography, cooking random things, sitting on my arse doing nothing but staring at the wall (I'm REALLY good at that!!), listening to all my CD's (esp. the Peppers, The Bicycle Thief, The Cure, Radiohead, Everclear or Jeff Buckley over and over and over), getting piercings or tattoos or convincing someone to get them (I'm REAL good at the peer pressure thing...hehehe)......

Schtuff: I am a proud member of the Surfrider Foundation since 1998 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers OFFICIAL Fan Club Rockinfreakapotamus where I'm member #2012 (I think the club is up to 8000+ now!!).

Favorite Colors: Purple...purple...more purple...and black :o)

Food Faves: Mom's al catra & lasagna, pasta, pizza, risotto, Mexican, cereal (most of 'em...I love breakfast foods!), salami or meatball sandwiches and raviolis from Original Joe's, and Ben and Jerry's ice cream (white russian or Phish food!!!) =o)

Good Eats: Original Joe's, Bold Knight, Falafal Drive-In (on San Carlos in SJ), Pizza-a-GoGo, the Greek places in TO, Palazzio's in Santa Barbara, Round Table Pizza (especially the one on Saratoga, eh Meggie!?), mom, g'ma (both), and Mrs. Bazzaco's cookin'!!!

My happy places: Music stores, ice, street and roller hockey games, rollerblading by myself, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Bicycle Thief, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, watching someone play guitar solos, my dog Cleo, Meggie, my niece Samantha, taking pix at hockey games and getting them back seeing that they came out really good and getting comments on them *hint hint*, getting snail mail, watching Austin play hockey cuz he's the greatest goalie!!!, friends that visit me from far away (Lyds & Kelly!!!), the beach at night, pretty flowers from nice guys, The Violent Femmes, Carrot Top, Adam Sandler, my brother John, Frank B., Mike Myers, Daniel in OZ-land, boys in makeup (ROBERT SMITH!!!), the end of the Chili Peppers Warped video (you know why, eh Sandy!!!!), night time, rain, snow, sun, moon, stars (especially late at night while you are on the beach listening to the waves crash on the shore), big cities, the drive to Big Sur, mountains to go hiking in and overlook the city (Gibraltar in Santa Barbara & Stone Mtn. in Georgia). Oh, and when people sign the guestbook to my web pages I become very happy indeed!!!

Habits: I bite my nails, I whine, I'm a chicken sh*t (cuz i'm very VERY shy...it's not a good thing!!!!), procrasitnator...

Readin': "Everything I needed to know, I learned in Kindergarten", "The Chicken Doesn't Skate", "Dream Brother", any and all poetry by Jim Morrison, some philosophy books (too many to list), Zen philosophies, psychology books (not the experimental kind...the clinical and counseling kind), hockey mags and books....

Tattoos/Piercings: Let's see here...I have a few tattoos (sun/moon/shooting star on my ankle; Red Hot Chili Peppers "symbol" (some say it stands for Chaos) within a swirling sun on my back...thanks Lyds for helpin' choose that one!!). A snake wrapped around the Greek symbol for psy (psychology) which is over a red maple leaf is on my upper left thigh. I MAY get a couple more (a dolphin and ocean thing on my back around the one I already have there, a star cluster/constalation on the outside of my right ankle, and possibly a scorpion cuz it's my totem)....but it all depends on how I feel and other personal deciding factors. To see mine, and some friend's tat's as well, click here.
As for piercing...eyebrow, belly button and ears. The eyebrow has to get redone cuz it surfaced! (GRRR), my ears have been pierced since I was a kid, and I got my upper ear (cartilage) done on Dec. 10(?). My cousin Dana and I got our belly buttons pierced on Dec. 28th (a few hours before I was in the pit at the Chili Peppers concert...OUCH...I suggest you don't do that!), and I got my tragus (that flap on your ear that kinda covers the hole) done early May with Patty.... I may get more, I may not. Dunno yet.

Music: I LOVE music. I can't play worth a crap (well, I can play a little on the piano, and a couple things on the guitar, a tad on the drums, but that's it), but I have an ear for it all! If you were to look at all my CD's, you'd see every variety...except polka...no wait, does that "Weird" Al Yankovic polka medly count?! Here are SOME of the groups I like:
Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, The Bicycle Thief, Jane's Addiction & Red Hot Chili Peppers are my absolute favourites.
I also like to listen to Metallica, The Who, Lynyrd Synyrd, U2, Alice In Chains, Aerosmith, Pantera, the Cure, Everclear, Stone Temple Pilots, The Doors, Greatful Dead, Butthole Surfers, George Strait, David Bowie, Dishwalla, Deftones, Orgy, Beastie Boys, surf guitar, Iggy Pop, a bunch of Canadianbands (The Tragically Hip, I Mother Earth, Our Lady Peace, Rush - as long as they aren't overplayed on the damn radio, The Tea Party), Sting/The Police, Dave Matthews Band, The Violent Femmes, Salmon, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, Social Distortion/Mike Ness, The Pretenders, Joy Division, Jimi Hendrix, The Catherine Wheel, Duke Elington, Van Morrison, Tony Bennett, Q-Tip, 2Pac, Peter Murphy/Bauhaus,

"It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.
Do wa do wa do wa do wa do waaaa!"

~~Swing Kids~~

Athletics: One of my passions in life is hockey....ice, street, and roller. I love to watch it, analyze what's going on, and sometimes even play...although I suck!!! I started liking it when I played a little in high school, and it went out of control from there (just ask anyone who has had to live with me)!

My favorite teams are SJ Sharks and TO Maple Leafs
I have a half a ton of favorite players, but the ones I absolutely LOVE to watch are (this is in no particular order!):
Mats Sundin, Eric Lindros, Brett Lindros (I don't care if he's not playing anymore...he's still my favorite!!!!!), the Vandermeer Bros., Maxime Gingras, Bryan Berard, Mike Johnson, John LeClair, Mark Recchi, Marco Sturm, Scott Hannan, Owen Nolan, Jay Murphy, Alan Schuler, Joe Bonvie, Greg Hadden, Cammi & Tony Granato, Steve Yzerman, Al MacInnis, Rob Laurie, Tie Domi & Pavel Bure. OH, and Bill Guerin is a great table hockey character...so are psycho goalies that slide from side to side!!!!!

I also LOVE goalies!!! I don't know why, but I have this huge admiration for those who can sit in front of a net and wait for a 90 mph puck to come flying at their head while going down into the splits, fly back up, and get the whole arena and their team psyched from a spectacular save. There must be something wrong with them!!! *L*

I LOVE roller hockey (which was one of the big reasons why I got so into hockey).
My favorite team is the San Jose Rhinos....even tho they are no longer in existance.

And yes, I do love to skate & play a little..although I wouldn't say I'm too great. But I get by! I began ice skating in the 4th grade, then quit for a little while, and I started up again in High School. I've been roller skating and roller blading since elementary school. I love to play defense when I do play.

I have also played softball, volleyball, & basketball.

I also like all other sports..especially Baseball (A's), Basketball (Lakers), and Football (49ers...go Niners!!!!!!). I love to watch "extreme" (whatever that title translates to) sports like rollerblading and skateboarding (esp. ramp), snowboarding, and surfing (as long as there's decent waves!!!)
Here's a pic of SF Giants pitcher Shawn Estes (just thought I'd share that with ya!)
My fave football players are Steve Young (go see my web page 4 him!) and Jerry Rice.

Other sports faves include:
snowboarder Peter Linepeter, skateboarder Tony Hawktony, rollerblader Fabiola Da Silvafabiola, and surfer Kelly Slater.

Cartoons: Dexter's Laboratory is my favorite cartoon :o)
I also like South Park (how can you not?), Space Ghost, Cow & Chicken, Rugrats (I liked it b4 it was all popular damnit!!!), and Blue's Clues (I'm weird, so sue me!)

Favorite Movies: The Breakfast Club is my absolute favorite.
I also like the Indian Jones movies, Dazed and Confused, Dead Poets Society, Alive, Top Gun, Pure Country, Swing Kids, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Four Rooms,...ok, let's translate this to ANYTHING Tim Roth has been in...even for a milli-second, Dirty Dancing, The Doors, Willow, Slap Shot, Youngblood, White Christmas, Swing Time, The Grinch That Stole Christmas, Point Break, ANYTHING with Mike Myers or Adam Sandler in it & The Mighty Ducks Trilogy. And I loooove Sleeping Beauty. I love to watch foreign films too...Europa, Europa(German), My Life As A Dog(Swedish) and Mediterreano (Italian) are my favourites.

Favorite Actors: I love Tim Roth, everyone on the TV show "Queer as Folk" (freakin' AWESOME show!!!!!), Russell Crowe (mmmm!!!!!) John Travolta, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Meg Ryan, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgewick, Aidan Quinn, John Malkovich & John & Joan Cusak. I also love those old black and white movies with actors and actresses like Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Sophia Loren, Gene Kelly and Danny Kaye.

I love pictures (mainly being behind the camera and taking them!).....so here's a ton of them!!!!!!!
So.......I INSIST you go here and see all my family, friends...and some of me if you really wanna! For those of you who have already been there, yes, I have added and changed quite a few pix, so check them out! (updated April 2000)
