Safty Tips For Kids

GeoCities has a special section JUST FOR KIDS. It is called The Enchanted Forest. There are community leaders, also known as "Angels on the Internet" who help the kids with their pages and Most of all they try to keep the sites Kid Safe so that parents can feel safe that their kids can browse the web in the Enchanted Forest. Here is a list of Internet Safty Tips for Kids and their parents.

Do not give out personal information such as your address, telephone number, or the name or location of your school.

Tell your parents right away if you come across any information on the Internet that makes you feel uncomfortable.

Never agree to get together with someone you have met online without first checking with your parents. If your parents agree to the meeting, meet in a public place, and bring your mother or father along with you.

Never send a picture of yourself or anything else without first checking your parents.

Do not respond to any messages thst are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable. It is not your fault if you get a message like that. If you get such a message tell your parents right away so that they can contact the online service and report it. If you ever find a site in the Enchanted Forest that does not seem to be Kid Safe please contact one of your Community Leaders.

Talk with your parents so that they can set up rules for going online. Decide on the appropriate areas on the Internet that your parents will let you visit.
