I KNOW A CARPENTER

I was as an old house
In dire need of repair,
Years had taken their toll
With neglect and lack of care.
Apathy and omission
Towards a life filled with sin,
Caused great stress damage
From without and from within.

I would paint it up and dress it up
So the harm wouldn't show,
But I knew I needed help and
Where to look I did not know.
"Foundation problems" said a friend,
"Are at the heart of your plight,
And I know a carpenter that
You can call on day or night.

He will be a Rock for your foundation
On which to base your life,
He will wash away all the damage
Caused by sin and strife.
You need only ask Him in,
Repent from your sin and let them go,
For with His precious blood
He paid the price long years ago.

And now the renewal complete,
I can let my little light shine.
My house is sound and filled with love,
And Jesus Christ is mine.
So if you're lost and searching,
And there's no way out you see.
Let me send you to someone I know,
The Carpenter from Galilee.
