This information will be useful to you if you live here, would like to move here, or would just like to visit. Another purpose is to introduce you to Mark and the services he can provide if you would like to buy or sell a home or other real estate in Utah.

The Nehemiah Program. Mark specializes in first-time home buyers and BYU properties. One of the most difficult things in buying your first home is coming up with the down-payment. That's where The Nehemiah Program comes in--they will legally gift you the down-payment money for your home, as long as the seller agrees to participate and the lender uses a program that allows a non-profit agency to give you that money. Currently that means that you need to qualify for an FHA loan. Utah Valley Homebuilders Association. This is the official site for member homebuilders in the area. As a realtor, Mark can help you find land to build and recommend homebuilders to help you meet your needs. Many respected homebuilders in the area work with realtors on a regular basis. |

Michael Leavitt Home Inspections. All buyers should get a professional home inspection after they agree to purchase a home. It makes you aware of potential problems in a home, and helps you resolve anything serious before you move into your new home--the biggest financial investment most people ever make. Michael was the 1998 president of the American Institute of Inspectors and is qualified to inspect more properties for more things than anyone else in the area. |

Mortgage Calculators provided on the Fannie Mae site. Calculate what you can afford, what your payment will be, what you have to make to afford this house, etc. Many different ways of determining the same thing. I can also set you up with a mortgage officer in the area so he or she can do the work for you. |
I have put together several pages to help you become familiar with the area. Look at the descriptions of each page and explore the things that interest you.
Utah and Salt Lake City Regional Homepage. This page introduces you to internet resources for the state of Utah and the Salt Lake Metropolitan area. This includes government and commercial sites of interest, including travel & tourism sites. You really can find more good links here than anywhere else I know of.
Provo/Orem Area. This page links you to the many community homepages for Utah County. If you're looking for an official city site, this will be the place to find it. Some of these sites are better and more informative than others, and I've tried to include some of the most pertinent information from those sites on my other pages.
Community Events. This page is updated frequently and is an attempt to be a comprehensive guide to what's going on in the community. If you have any events that you would like added to this list, e-mail me. If you get the information to me soon enough (preferably two months in advance), I may also publish it in a monthly flyer which is widely distributed in Provo and Orem.
Schools in the Provo/Orem, Utah area. This page includes public and private schools, from k-12 to college. Many educational resources for the area.
Local Media. Find out about print and broadcast media for the area. Current links to websites of radio and TV stations as well as all the newspapers that have a homepage.
Local Sports. Here you can find out about area sports, from professional to participatory. This will be an actively updated page for some weeks to come, so visit here often.
Better Homes & Gardens. Internet site for the magazine. Great remodeling, decorating, gardening & cooking ideas.
James Dulley. A regular contributor to many newspapers, James puts together reports on several topics to help you maintain your home and keep it operating efficiently. There's a short article on each topic, and you can order a detailed report from his site.
Extension Service. The University of Utah Extension service provices gardening information and help throughout Utah, with several local offices and educational resources.
