All the time I hear people say "I'm alternative!," or "I live an alternative lifestyle."  Then I ask them how their life is alternative, and they things like "I listen to alternative music," "I dress differently than everyone else," "I pierce my body," I dye my hair," or even "I'm homosexual."  To be honest, are these things really against the norm?  I mean, think about it... how many times a day do you see people who fit the descriptions above?  If you're like me, you see this everyday all day.  What's so alternative about that!  A truly alternative lifestyle is counter-cultural, it goes against the norms, it does not flow right along with them.  The only truly alternative lifestyle, is to live a life following Christ.
