After the death of Benjamin Thomas and Mary Jane a few months apart in 1896, the minor Caywood children went to live with the families of their half sisters who had married into the Williams and Crenshaw families. They lived in a half dug-out seven miles northwest of what is now Duncan, OK. Later the Crenshaws built a house on the property. That house lasted until 1938 when they tore it down and built a new house.
