What a great site! Love those graphics! I've been searching for information on my great-grandfather, Myles Shields. He emigrated to the United States with his brother Tom Shields in the late 1800's. These two brothers worked their way west, via Butte, Montana and ended up in San Francisco where they married two sisters; Barbara McCormick and Mary McCormick (of Meath). Of course, the last name could be Shiel, Sheil, Shiels, Sheils. Hopefully, I'll eventually be able to track down which one it might act ally be! Sites like this are mighty helpful! Thanks so much! Was wondering what you thought of the recent gene pool study in Ireland which has exposed the myth that Ireland is a celtic country and that the huge majority of Irish are NOT of celtic origin but Anglo-Saxon. It is perhaps true that Protestant Ulster-Sc t, whose tradition you refuse to accept as Irish, is probably more gaelic than the those how espouse that culture in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. That aside you web-site is most professional and detailed and testament to your work and ef ort.

Carol, Kudos to you! Your site is incredible! I have been tracing my ancestry for a few years, I've yet to cross the ocean...but I believe that Donegal is area I will need to search when I have more conclusive information! Names I'm searching that I believe are n the Donegal area are Downs, Ward, Gillen, Gilland, possibly Duffy tho I think they were in County Tyrone in the early to mid 1800's. We have reason to believe that my Great Great Grandmother, Sarah Jane Duffy born about 1839 in Newton-Stewart, County yrone; Dau. of Patrick & Catherine(Monaghan) Duffy; It's believed they arrived in the U.S. around 1855; settled in Upstate New York. Everything about this site is wonderful and the music is great! I'll be back! Sheila Byrne DuPage County, Illinois, USA

Congrats on your webpage. Just surfing around and found it. Will explore more later. Keep up the good work. Suggestion...use less contrasting colors (i.e. white on blue) vs. blue on black...it's easier on the eyes! PS: I live in Cleveland, Ohio where my grandfather came here at the turn of century from Quebec, Canada. Previous loose research suggested County Cork and possibly Ulster in Ireland in te 1700's. Just in case you wanted to know. Good Luck!

I did a search for the word Ireland and eventually ended up at your HomePage which is beautiful! I wanted to find information about my grandmother's decendants. She grewup outside Belfast and came to Canada with her family at 18 or so. She is now 92 and v ry healthy. I would love to come to Ireland with my son but am very leary of the northern part. I want to see all of Ireland tho. E-mail me at the given address until the end of May if you like.

My great grandfather Thomas IRWIN came from/near Ramelton, Donegal to Australia in the 1880's. His parents were John IRWIN & Mary Anne CASSIDY, and they were farmers. Thomas has 3 sisters (Maria, Jane & Ellen Letitia). One of his his may have married a STARRETT. Carol, I enjoyed your website. I don't think my Donnelley's and Sweeney's are related to yours. I noticed the name of your home page, ref. F-16 fighters. I live near Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. It calls itself as the world's largest fighter training ase. Has lots of F-16 fighters. I hear them most evenings when they fly over my home, returning from training missions over the desert. I'm not complaining, though. They have a job to do, and they were here long before I was.

I saw that some of the family names you are serching for are Bells. My family came from Indiana Co., Pennsylvania. There is a cemetary call Greenwood in Indiana, Indiana Co., Pennsylvania that has a Bell family plot in it. I have not been able to get ther yet. I live in Houston, Texas. But that is where a lot of my family on my mother's, mother,s side were berried. Have you come across it in your suddies. My Grand mother was Rose Helen Bell m Charles Elliot Morgan (he was from Pickins, WV). Rose's parents were John Alexander Bell m Sarah Araminta Lewis and John's parents were William R. Bell m Mary Lydick. I have been able to find where William married Mar Lydick and then trace her family but I havn't been able to find who William R.Bell's parents were. Good luch with your serching for family members. Thank you, Jean

Hi, a very nice site. I really enjoyed it. I decend from Reuban Queen, and Mary Butler. Their daughter married Noah Garner, whose name was Laura Queen. Then their daughter Letitica married Edmund Wade, my greatgreatgrandparents. I'm not sure whose Reuban Queens father, I thought or think its Henson, but not for sure.

Great page. I found your page through the Heartland Genealogy Society Web Ring. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any matching surnames. Keep up the great work and visit my page if you get a chance.
