BCBC Beagle Rescue 1999

Diego
Abandoned at a shelter in Ohio as a tiny puppy, DIEGO had absolutely no intention of letting anything get him down! He took the long flight to Seattle in his stride, and came out of his travel crate with his tail wagging, clearly very happy to meet new friends. He had a new home waiting for him, complete with a beagle 'big brother' who is delighted to have a playmate.

HAPPY is a cheerful fellow who's always ready for a good time. "Happily" he now has a new family who love him dearly!

MAGGIE came here from Ohio and stole our hearts completely! We had to almost literally bring her back to life. When she arrived she was skin and bones, absolutely emaciated from nursing a litter of 7 Akita cross puppies she'd whelped in the shelter. Not only that, but she was terrified of everything and everyone. When handled, she'd just 'freeze'. The day she finally wagged her tail, we celebrated! Maggie was just too special to part with, so she is now happily a permanent member of the family of her saviour/nurse, (and our Rescue Co-ordinator), Jenn Johnson. As I write this, about 8 months after her arrival, well - you wouldn't recognize her! In glorious health and with a happy smile and - yes - a slow and steady 'wag'.

Update: After many happy years with the Johnson family, Maggie passed away doing what beagles do best - having a 'burn' in happiness that her people had come home. She will be forever remembered.

HOWARD is a big 'ol hound dog from Ohio. He loves all the attention he's been getting, even the ear cleaning and manicure! He also loves kids - good thing as he has three of them to order him around these days. The best thing is undeniably the food, though, eh Howie? Howie actually needs to GAIN weight, so he's getting lots of good grub.

GINGER's first plan of action was a diet!. She is an absolute darling who wanted nothing more than to be someone's housepet again. She got her wish!

CARLY has gone to live with her litter-sister, Emmy (Rescue Photos 1998). Because of their close relationship and the fact that they are very similar in character, we were a little concerned which of the two would be dominant. The good news is, according to their owner, they've decided to co-chair the position!
