My son Christopher was murdered on July 17, 1995 on his way home from work...it was a random shooting, the killer didn't even know my son, but said he "wanted to know what it was like to kill someone." My son had just turned 17 on July 5, twelve days before he was killed. I miss him so much, but know he is with our Heavenly Father and for that much I am grateful.
God's Promise
God didn't promise days without pain,
laughter without sorrow or sun without rain,
But God did promise strength for the day,
comfort for the tears and a light for the way.
And for all who believe in His kingdom above,
He answers their faith with everlasting love.

Christopher loved fishing. The summer before he was killed, I'd bought him a new rod and reel for his birthday. He only got to use it a couple of times when a fish stole it right out of it's little holder. If I hadn't been with him that day I never would have believed it. He wouldn't even come home with me for dinner, he insisted he was staying at that lake until he got his pole back....he never got it back.

Chris liked to shoot pool and play golf. He always beat me at pool. And as for golf, well, he could drive like a maniac but couldn't putt. I could putt but couldn't drive...so we double teamed Trinity who had had a couple of summers worth of golf lessons at grandma's house.

Christopher was active in our church...he loved God and had a heart that was unbeatable....he was so loving and so sensitive...all animals and all children loved him.

Christopher loved kids. He'd planned on having 7 of his own when he got married. He said he would even adopt so his wife didn't have to deliver 7 of them. He loved Jonathan so much, he would let him slobber in his pop and never said a word...he would have been a wonderful daddy.

This was our last Christmas together...he always cut his own hair...and this time, uh, cut it a little too short...

This is my grandson Jonathan at his Uncle Chris's grave site. Jonathan is my oldest son Trinity's baby, but Christopher was the one to help deliver him when he was born, and the first to hold him. The nurses all thought Chris was the dad, he was so proud.
