Having heard and believed the gospel, and having repented of your sins, you must confess Jesus as the Son of God.
What should we confess?
Acts 8:37 says: "And Phillip said, 'If you believe with all of your heart, you may.' And he answered and said 'I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.'."
Also in Romans 10:9-10 we read: "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved."
The confession we are called in the Scriptures to make is "I believe that Jesus Christ is ths Son of God.", and that "Jesus is Lord."
Why should we confess Jesus as our Lord?
Matthew 10:32-33 says: "Everyone therefore who will confess me before men, I will also confess before my Father, who is in heaven. But whoever shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven."
If we confess Jesus as Lord while we are on earth, He will confess us as being His before His Father when we get to Heaven.
These scriptures show that confession of Jesus as the Son of God,
and as Lord is essential to salvation.
