I was born and reared somewhere in the backwoods of middle Georgia..If I could go back and change things, some things I might change...but this would remain the same..I loved the country life and still dream of it today..You know what they say.."You can take the Girl out of the country but........." cause sugar I iz pure country from my pigtails to my bare feet. Just look about and see don't you think um iz.
Thought I might share with you just a tad of my 'country roots'
This is my Mama, Daddy and oldest sister, taken about 1930, in a cornfield..now sugar you just don't get much more country than that!

Are any of ya'll old enough to remember these.........
Personally, I cannot remember that far back, musta been fore my time...
Speaking of Remembering..........I remember something funny from about 25 years ago....My brother, Larry, always piddled around with old junk cars and such..he had this big truck with a flat bed on the back of it..one day he was pulling an old car into the yard from the woods so he could tinker with it..the closest route to him looked like the opening between the chicken yard and the outhouse so he headed through.....he almost made it when the corner of the flatbed caught the corner of the outhouse..he heard a racket behind him and turned to look just in time to see the outhouse flip over on it's face...well he dragged it a few feet and got out to walk back and look for damage...the outhouse had fell on the door and as he went to the bottom and looked he saw a head pokeing through one of the seat holes (it was a two seater)..well the head had on a black knitt cap but he knew who it belonged too...it was so funny to him he fell on the ground and just rolled around laughing...When he finally got to where he could look again he saw the black hat bobbing toward the house at a fast pace..underneath the black hat was this little old lady that mama had hired to help with washing every Monday. To this day we don't know how she got out of that overtuned outhouse..it was never mentioned to her. But until my brothers death he swore she climbed out through the hole.(IMPOSSIBLE!) but the outhouse was laying face down on the door......
I would like to intorduce you to my son, Gary.He plays Bass Guitar in a country band called Warner-Meeks Rough stock Band....his other love and hobby is collecting arrowheads..here is Gary and a sample of his arrowhead collection.
I have one chat room friend that really loves to tease me about being a southern Bell, about Grits and hoop skirts...this one's for you my SD Yankee friend.
This
world that we are living in is mighty hard to beat.
You get a thorn with every rose, but ain't the roses sweet?
