"Why Me Lord ?"

"WHY ME?" is a question that each of us
may ask in the midst of an especially
trying time in our lives. We may NEVER
know the answer to THAT question...
here on Earth. But during one
of MY "WHY ME?" sessions, I searched
the "Handbook For Life" and found
these answers. I hope that these
Words will be of comfort to you.

One of my favorite scripture
passages is found in
2 Corinthians 12:7-10, when Paul says,
~
"To keep me from becoming conceited
because of these surpassingly great
revelations, there was given me a
thorn in my flesh, a messenger from
satan, to torment me. Three times
I pleaded with the Lord to take it
away from me. But He said to me,
"MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR
YOU, FOR MY POWER IS MADE
PERFECT IN WEAKNESS". Therefore
I will  boast all the  more gladly about
my weaknesses, so that Christ's Power
may rest on me. That is why, for
Christ's sake I delight in weaknesses,
in insults, in hardships, in persecutions,
in difficulties- FOR WHEN I
AM WEAK, THEN AM I STRONG. (NIV)

Perhaps if it were not for my
"thorn in the flesh" I would not  depend
on the Lord daily for my every step.
Perhaps I would take a "pain free"
life for granted, the way that others do.

Peter 2:19 says, "For it is commendable
if a man bears up under the pain
of unjust suffering because
he is conscious of God".

I also find solace in Phillipians 2:8:

"And being found in appearance as
a man, he humbled himself and became
obedient to death- even death on a cross".

Jesus became a man and He
experienced some of what we
experience. And he suffered tremendous
pain ! Death on a cross was NOT a
piece of cake ! The Lord KNOWS pain.
So when we go to Him each day in
prayer, we can be assured that he
understands. And he loves us SO much…..
~

"In Your Unfailing love you will lead
the people you have redeemed.   In
YOUR strength you will guide
them to your Holy Dwelling"
 ~

Exodus 15:13

I'd love to hear from you
