I HAVE ACCEPTED JESUS AS SAVIOR, NOW WHAT?

"I am the way, the truth, and the life:
NO MAN
cometh unto the Father,
BUT BY ME."

                                  --JESUS CHRIST, JOHN 14:6

JESUS IS MORE THAN A GREAT TEACHER,
HE IS YOUR ONLY HOPE

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2)The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher
come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3)Jesus answered and said unto him,Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4)Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second
time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5)Jesus answered,Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water
and ofthe Spirit, he cannot enter in to the kingdom of God.
6)That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit
is spirit.
7)Marvel not that I said unto thee. Ye must be born again.

-St.John 3:1-7

Find a church that believes in Baptism by immersion. You need to be baptized.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things
are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

-II Corinthians 6:17

Even JESUS went to John the Baptist to be baptized in the river.

6)And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of skin about his loins;
and he did eat locusts and wild honey;
7)And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the lachet of whose
shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
8)I indeed have baptized you with water; but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
9)And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee,
and was baptized of John in Jordan.
10)And straightaway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the
Spirit like a dove decending upon him:
saying,Thou art my beloved Son,
in whom I am well pleased.

-St. Mark 1:6-11

When we witness we should teach by example. Did you ever meet someone who claims to be a Christian, yet they are
not interested in talking about Jesus? They curse and tell lewd jokes. They don't go to church and know nothing
of the Bible. They flirt, drink to excess and party after work. Dearly beloved, these things should not be.
We should try to live a life like Jesus. Although we are sinners and we will fail we should be as good an
example as possible.
When witnessing, we need to tell the full story so people will know how to live as a true disciple.
We should speak as directed from the Lord; however, there are some basic facts that need to be included:
-We have all sinned (Romans 3:23)

-The wages of sin is death--physical (the grave) and spiritual (hell) (Romans 6:23)

-God doesn't want us tortured in hell (Ezekiel 33:11)

-Jesus died in our place (Romans 5:8)

-If we 1) repent of our sins 2)believe that Jesus died
for our sins and rose from the dead, and 3) confess
Jesus Christ as our savior and soon coming King, we will
be saved. (Romans 10:9)

If a person is saved as a result of our witness, we must tell the rest of the story, which is discipleship- -growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (We should also be willing to make a personal commitment to disciple this person. I understand that this is not always possible, but we still need to support them i.e., in prayer, phone calls, etc.)
Tell them:
-Once saved, you've entered into a new relationship with God. He is not your enemy,
He is your Father and you should get to know Him. Talk to Him. Shun sin and walk in His light.
-You need to be baptized as the first step of obedience -You need to read the Bible everyday so you know the truth and how to live. -You need to pray daily and develope a personal relationship with Him. -You need to go to a Bible-believing church

Please, don't go witnessing without being led by the Spirit of God. You end up trying to coerce people to say "the sinner's prayer" in your own strength which is powerless. A person has to want Jesus for themselves. He is Savior, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Beautiful, Everlasting God--everything that anyone could ever want. And He wants those that will love Him. He loves us so much He gave His life for us asking only that we remember He gave it freely to deliver us from sin. Jesus can do anything and He is all that can be desired.
