Welcome To

Arkhick's Place

Welcome to Arkhick's Place. I hope you enjoy your stay and find useful information here. I know that Arkhick is an unusual name, but it was a joke that stuck.

I am the wife of an Army Sergeant and the Mom of three wonderful kids: an 11 year-old girl (mine - who's a joint custody kid), a 7 year-old boy (who has Fetal Alcohol Effects, which is irreversible brain damage caused by maternal alcohol use during pregnancy, you can learn more about it at my FAS/FAE Page), and a 4 year-old girl (who is our little blessing from God with curls, she has all the power and we commonly call her "the boss").

I enjoy surfing the web, chatting with friends online, cross stitch, yard sales, gardening and teaching others about FAS/FAE. I also lead a youth group called Youth Adventures© at the Williamsburg Church of Christ where we regularly worship our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is my fervent prayer that we as a community and a human race find the strength to wipe out Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Effects. This site is dedicated to that end.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND AT MY SITE:

FAS/FAE Page contains information about FAS/FAE, resources and links.

FAS Helping Hands page contains information about our local FAS/FAE Family/Community Support Group which now meets monthly in Williamsburg, VA.

Kid's Corner has links for kids (both fun and educational) and information about Youth Adventures©.

Military Family Page is for military families with several useful links to government info we Army familites use.

Mommy's Spot is just for Moms with a bit of Mommy humor and links.

My Stories page has some of my personal stories about life at our house, some you might find humorous, sad, cute and maybe even normal.

Then of course there is the Hick Page to stay true to the nickname so generously given to me.
