Here is a picture of some of the Kentucky and Indiana branches of our BASTIN family, including descendants of Samuel Smith Bastin, and James Monroe Bastin.
The identities of only some are known. In Kathy (Bastin) Kelley's words, "Front row, right in the center, is a man kneeling with a boy seated in front -- that is my father, Dale E. Bastin (son of James Elbert); the seated boy I believe is my brother Robert Michael Bastin. At his right elbow is my 1st cousin, Robert H. Miller Jr. Right shoulder is Cora Stephens, Left Shoulder is Dora Griffith Bastin, my dad's step mother. Directly behind her is Geraldine Bastin Miller Dora (my dad's sister - still living in Connersville, Indiana) She is holding my 1st cousin Diana Miller (died at about 6 or 7 years old) To the left of the child she is holding is my grand father, James Elbert Bastin, To the left of him is Conley Stephens husband of Cora, then the only others I am certain is on the right of the picture are two men standing on the 3rd row counting the kids setting. The one on the outside is Jack or James E. Bastin Jr. and the other is Kenneth Carl Bastin (My father's brothers.) I am not sure of the others but I plan to meet with my cousin soon and get the information." Kathy (Bastin) Kelley is still researching just who is who.
