John Longstreth was born ca. 1751/52 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA. He was married ca. 1778 to Margaret Ann George, the daughter of Albright and Caty George. She was born on 16 May 1760 in Bedford County, PA. John was a veteran of the Revolutionary War, having served in the "Flying Camp" under Capt. Andrew Hines. He also served under Gen. Anthony Wayne against the indians in 1794-95. John passed away in Bedford County, PA ca. Mar 1834, and is believed to be interred in the Sideling Hill Cemetery, Fulton County, PA. Margaret Ann removed to Ohio with her children and died 18 Feb 1837 in Deavertown, York Township, Morgan County, OH. She is interred in the Camel Light Cemetery in Deavertown, and a memorial marker to her is located in the Deavertown Methodist Church Cemetery. They were the parents of the following children:
