Tribute to my Granny Helen Eckhardt Mourton

I would like to dedicate this page to the memory of my late Granny Helen Eckhardt Mourton.

The scripture, Proverbs 31:10-12 "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life." is a great tribute to my Granny. She was a friend to all.

All of her married life she lived with her mother-in-law and father-in-law. For 32 years they lived together, raised 5 children, before her mother-in-law went to be with the Lord. During those 32 years, not a cross or unkind word was ever spoken between the two of them. They both were very dedicated Christians, Titus 2 ladies.

My Great-Granny Maxie Faulkner Mourton, my Granny's mother-in-law, was one of the first people to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost back in 1913 in the area of the country where they lived. My grandmothers were both ladies of faith! When they called on God, He answered!

I have seen my Great-Granny Maxie quote the scripture: "And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live." Ezekiel 16:6, and one that was hurt and bleed, the blood stopped right then!

God blessed me with 12 grandparents that were living when I was born. There was 2 sets of 5 generations, and 2 sets of 4 generations. The amazing thing is they all lived until I was old enough to remember something special about each one of them. Now, I only have one grandparent left out of 12.

I never saw my Granny Helen go to the doctor, for she trusted in God to heal her, and He did. My Granny went on to her reward in September, 1994, and not a day goes by that I don't think of her and miss her so much. I know that the prayers she prayed for me during her lifetime are still going before the throne of God even now.

My Granny Helen was one of the most gentle people you could ever meet. She was kind to everyone. If there were more people like my Granny Helen, this world would be a kinder, gentler place to live.

The music you have been listing to was my Granny Helen's favorite song, "What A Day That Will Be".
