"Rick, are you here?" cried Alison. "Yeah, what are doing here, I thought you were going to quit with the dope?" said Rick. "I know, but Jason broke up with me and I really need a shot of dope," Alison said, "But I only have this much," She pulled out 2 crumpled $20's. "I guess that will do for this time, but only this time, ok?" Rick said. "Ok, I just need it right now," she said. Rick pulled out a bag of white powder, and Alison handed over her money. She took the bag and started home. She knew that her parents weren't home right now so she easily could hide the dope from her parents.
Once she got home, she quickly ran to her room and pulled out a cross necklace. She twisted the bottom of the necklace which was really a spoonlike device. She dumped the heroin into the hollow part of the cross and put the bottom piece back on. She heard the door slam and realized that her mother was home. She quickly put on the necklace and hid the cross under her tight fitting shirt. Her mother's head popped in the door of her room.
"Hi honey," her mother said. "Hi mom," she replied. "How was your day today?" her mom asked. "Ok," she said. Her mother never knew about her boyfriend, Jason, because he was 28 and she was only 17. "That's great honey. So are you planning on doing anything tonight?" her mom said "Yeah, I was going to spend the night with Julie, remember?" she said. "Oh yeah, I forgot about that, you should get going so you can get there before dark," her mom said. "Ok, bye mom!" she said and gave her mom a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek. She grabbed her bag that she had packed earlier this morning. She walked out of her 2 story Victorian home and down the street to another house almost identical to her house. She rang the door bell and her best friend Julie answered.
"Hey girl!" Julie said. "Hey Julie," Alison said dryly. "What's wrong, hun?" Julie said, seeing that Alison wasn't acting her usually happy self. "Jason broke up with me," she said, as the tears started to flow from her eyes "I'm sorry to hear that, but I told you he was a scrub, but have no fear, Julie is here!" Julie said "Thanks," she said as she dried her tears. "Now, I have an idea, why don't I set you up on a blind date?"said Julie. "Uh, no thanks," said Alison. "Oh come on! I am going to set you up with my cousin. He is really nice, and he is hot!" said Julie. "Well, I guess,"she said. "Great! I'll call him at his hotel because he is in town right now with 4 of his friends," Julie said as she ran up the stairs to her room to call.
While Julie was calling her cousin, Alison quickly ran into the bathroom and unscrewed her cross necklace. She quickly scooped a little of the heroin into the spoon and stuck the spoon to her nose and snorted it up her nose. Julie didn't know she did drugs and she didn't want her to know. She screwed the cross necklace together and headed up to Julie's room where Julie was talking to her cousin.
"Ok, Ok, 7:00? Ok, she'll meet you there, ok see ya, Bye!" Julie said as she hung up the phone. "Guess What" "What?" Alison said "I have it all planned. You are going to meet him at 7:00 tomorrow night at his hotel and then you're going out to dinner with him!" "You're not coming?" Alison asked "No, I already have plans, he said to meet him at the fountain outside of the hotel. Here are the directions," Julie said. "But I want you to be there in case we don't really get along so I have someone to talk to," said Alison. "You guys will be fine, if you don't like him, after you eat, just ask him to take you home. Simple as that," said Julie. "Ok, I think I'll make it until the date," Alison said. "That's great. So do you want to go see a movie?" Julie asked "Yeah, let's go," Alison said as she grabbed her coat.
Alison was driving down High Street looking for the Marriot hotel and soon she saw the big sign. She pulled into the parking lot and got out of her green 1999 Mustang Convertable, wearing a short Gucci black dress, her long brown hair left down and her green eyes lightly accented with black mascara and green eyeshadow. She quickly saw the huge fountain in front of the hotel.
A zillion thoughts were going through her head as she walked to the fountain. What if he doesn't like me, what if he's a jerk, or what if he was like Jason, were some of the thoughts going through her head as she approached the fountain. The area around the fountain was deserted except for one tall guy with short blond hair. Julie told her that her date's name was Nick. She walked up beside him and asked him. "Excuse me, does your name happen to be Nick?"
