Concert Tour '97/'98 |
In December 1997, Bobbie Eakes and Jeff Trachta arrived in Holland for a tour of about 15 concerts, including one in Switzerland. On this page, you will find some info about the concerts, plus some photos.
Dutch solo artists Erikah Karst and Spiros were the opening acts of the concerts. They sang some songs from their own albums and, later on in the show, Erikah also sang duets with both Bobbie and Jeff. For the official program of the concerts, and more photos, click here.
After the opening acts, the Bold and the Beautiful tune was played. Then, the band started playing "Everlasting Love," and Bobbie and Jeff sang the first few lines while still behind the curtains. As soon as they appeared on stage, there was an enormous applause from the audience. Before the break, they performed several other songs from their well-known "Duets" albums.

After the break, Bobbie was the first to sing some "solo" songs. "How Do I Live" is a duet with René Froger (a Dutch solo artist), which appears on his latest album, "Home Again." During most of the concerts, Bobbie sang this song without René but, during the Christmas concert, René appeared as a guest star. On stage, Bobbie was joined by a cute little Christmas tree that could be made to move by remote control. It danced on the music while she sang. In between songs, Bobbie picked a little girl from the audience to sing a Christmas song on stage with her. Before her last song, she chose a man from the audience to join her on the stage and dance with her.
Jeff proved himself to be a real "David Copperfield." After a big bang and some flashes, he appeared either somewhere from the ceiling in an elevator, or through a hatch in the floor of the stage, depending on the possibilities offered by the theater where they were performing.
His new single "Young Girl" was a great hit. Then he started singing "Summer Loving" from the musical Grease. After a few lines, he stopped and said something was missing: he needed a Sandy! He picked a girl or woman from the audience and started singing the song as a duet with her. But no, something was still missing. Then he showed her a pink skirt with a poodle on it, which she had to wear. They started singing again, but the picture was not complete yet. Jeff pulled a blond wig out of his jacket and told "Sandy" to wear it. Jeff also performed "Love Me Tender," which he sang on Broadway while playing Danny Zuko in the musical Grease. Erikah Karst appeared again as a guest star and sang the duet "Seperate Lives" with Jeff, a song which he normally sings with Bobbie. Erikah remained on stage and also sang a beautiful duet with Bobbie: "Does He Love Me."

Then Bobbie and Jeff sang some more duets from their albums, and the Christmas song "Sleigh Ride." For this song, they had both put on Christmas suits. Since all concerts were held a few days before or after the holidays, this really gave people in the audience that special Christmas feeling again. Jeff had a Christmas stocking in his hands and threw candies into the audience. Before they left the stage, they were joined by Spiros and Erikah Karst again for the Reprise.
