WHERE SCANNON LIVES
Hi! my name is John and I live about 30 miles north of Salmon,Idaho on Hwy 93N. We live in a small subdivision that is surrounded by National Forest, which gives us alot of privacy, plus beautiful year round scenery, with all kinds of wildlife in our yard.
During the spring & summer we enjoy all the wonderful wildflowers that are natural on our property, plus the fresh clean air that goes with living in the mountains. The only drawback is the dirt road that keeps us busy dusting, but the peace & quiet more than make up for it. It is always nice to see all the birds & animals when spring arrives, mainly we look forward to all the hummingbirds that feed outside our dining room window.
Winter is beautiful when the snow arrives which is usually right around the end of October, and stays into the first part of April. Normally we have about 4 feet of snow around the house in the middle of winter. The temperatures get a little cold in December & January, getting down to around -20 or lower at night, and warms up to about zero during the daytime. Thats when we throw a couple extra logs on the fire, and turn the electric blanket up to high.
We built our place about 8 years ago, it is a log home, which we designed and built ourselves, with the help of one of our neighbors who builds log homes in the area. Like most Web pages, our home is constantly under construction, a never ending project. It stays nice and cool in the summer, and warm an and cosy in the winter.
