Tetsu opened the front door, Hyde was still clutching onto him but he had
stopped crying. He was still shaking though. Tetsu walked into the house, Hyde
came with him as he closed the door silently. Hyde viewed the big flat, he was
aware that he wasn?t nervous at being so close to Tetsu. But Hyde was genuinely
scared and all the way home he hadn?t wanted to let go of Tetsu because he was
scared he might loose him forever. People in the street had looked at them
strangely as Tetsu had held Hyde and visa versa.
?Come on . . . this way Haido.? Tetsu said quietly, pulling Hyde along
silently. He flicked a light switch when they were halfway down the corridor.
There was a flash of lights and then nothing. The fuse had gone.
?Shit!? Tetsu growled as he tried the lights in another room. ?I?m sorry Haido,
the lights have gone. I?ll have to wait until the morning to fix them. Is that
okay?? Tetsu asked, Hyde looked up at him in the darkness ? they were so close
he could feel Tetsu?s breath on his small face. Hyde nodded. ?Okay, you can
sleep in here ? I?ll sleep on the sofa. Alright?? Tetsu said, he guided Hyde
into a little room. He left Hyde?s side and was walking out of the door when
Hyde turned around.
?But . . .but Tet-chan I?m frightened of the dark. Please don?t leave me in
here all alone . . . ? Hyde cried. Tetsu couldn?t help thinking how sweet he
sounded. He sounded so scared and lonely.
?Okay, Haido. Um . . . ? Tetsu thought quickly. ?I?ll sleep in here with you.
Come on.? Tetsu?s heart was racing and he walked back to Hyde. Before he knew
what was happening Hyde had started to hug him again.
?Arigato Tet-chan! You are such a good friend.? Hyde?s voice was muffled as he
buried his face into Tetsu?s shirt. He wanted to say ?lover? instead of ?friend?
but he couldn?t in case Tetsu didn?t like him. Tetsu guided Hyde over to the bed
and then sat him on it.
?I just need to go and get changed. Will you be alright in here alone for a
second?? Tetsu asked, running a hand though his own hair and looking at Hyde.
Hyde nodded and looked around
?Just a second though. ? Hyde said. Tetsu smiled and walked out.
When he came back Hyde was curled up in the bed. He had taken off his gown and
was simply wearing his boxers. Then Tetsu noticed he was still wearing his
jacket. It was quite cold in the room ? and it didn?t mean Hyde liked him. But
still he wished he could kiss Hyde so lovingly. Tetsu climbed into the warm bed
and Hyde curled up next to him, smiling slightly. Hyde seemed to come closer as
Tetsu lay down. In a second Hyde had his head on Tetsu?s chest and was clutching
a piece of the T-shirt he had on. Tetsu put his arms around Hyde. He smelt his
hair and touched it. Then Tetsu lay his head on the top of Hyde?s and feel fast
asleep.
When Hyde awoke in the morning Tetsu was already up. He could see him in the
bathroom to the right of Hyde. It was Sunday ? that meant there was no work
today for either of them. Tetsu turned around, he saw Hyde propped up in bed
looking at him.
?Oh! You?re up. Sorry did I wake you?? Tetsu asked, he had just finished
shaving and there were still bits of foam on his chin. Hyde shook his head, he
crawled out of the bed and stretched sleepily. Groaning Hyde felt his swollen
eye where he had been punched the night before. He could still feel the mans
hands on his body.
?I think I?ll take a shower ? is that okay?? Hyde asked, turning to Tetsu.
?Yeah, it?s just in there.? Tetsu pointed into the white bathroom, Hyde nodded
and walked into it.
There were cosmetics everywhere. Face cleansing cream, anti-wrinkle cream . . .
everything.
?Anti-wrinkle cream?? Hyde mused happily. He sighed and pulled off his boxers
and took off the coat he had worn all night. He was naked now and he couldn?t
believe Tetsu was in the other room. He turned and walked into the shower. The
warm water splashed onto his body and soothed his aching bones. Sighing softly,
he thought of Tetsu.
Tetsu picked up the phone and dialled Ken the bartender?s number. He waited for
the phone on the other end to be picked up. Looking at his watch he sighed and
was about to put the phone down when he heard Ken?s voice.
?Konnichiwa ? Ken here.? He sounded sleepy and then the voice of a woman could
be heard.
?Who is that Kenny? Come back to bed.? She sounded tired also.
?No-one Mitsuko, I?ll be there in a second ? go back to sleep.? Ken coughed as
he bought the phone back to his mouth. ?Sorry, Ken here.? He said as he gave his
full attention back to his caller.
?Hey Ken, it?s Tetsu.?
?Oh, hey! How ya doin??? He asked.
?Fine, fine. I just called to say that I might just have found us a vocalist.
Haven?t heard him sing yet but I think he?ll be alright.? Tetsu smiled as he
thought of Hyde.
?Cool, has he got a name?? Ken joked.
?Oh, yeah, gomen. Haido Kun ? he?s the short guy that works at the restaurant
with us ? remember him?? Tetsu hated to call Hyde ?the short guy? but he thought
calling him ?the most gorgeous angel in the world? might be a little much.
?Cool. Why do you work there anyway, your parents gave you enough money to last
three lifetimes!? Ken enquired.
?You know, I just wanted to prove to them that I could earn my own keep.? Tetsu
said.
?Okay, I guess that?s fair. Hey ? why don?t we meet up later, we can all try
out together.? Ken suggested.
?Good idea, about 11?? Tetsu said, searching for a pen and paper. He found one
and wrote down a little note.
?Yeah, sounds good. We can go to some café or something afterwards. Just to get
to know each other you know.?
?Okay, see you then. Bye Ken-chan.? And with that Tetsu put the phone down. A
few minutes later Hyde came out of the bathroom. He had a towel around his waist
and his wet chest made Tetsu go weak at the knees. He was carrying his clothes
as he walked over to the bed. His wet hair clung to his body, just like Tetsu
would like to. Hyde felt Tetsu?s eyes on him. Hyde dropped his stuff by the bed
and pulled on his boxer short.
?Oh hey, Haido, you can borrow a pair of mine if you like.? Tetsu grabbed a
pair of white boxers and handed them to Hyde. Hyde smiled and flicked his hair
over his shoulder.
?Thanks, Tet-chan.? Hyde took them and slipped them on instead of his own. They
were to big for him ? but wearing anything of Tetsu?s made his heart beat
faster.
Tetsu and Hyde walked down the street and up to the little block of flats where
Ken lived. Tetsu rang the doorbell and then turned to look at Hyde.
?What?s wrong?? He asked as he watched his Hyde looking worried.
?Nothing . . . ? Hyde lied. He was actually thinking that Tetsu wouldn?t want
him to sing because he sounded so God-awful. The door opened and Ken stood in
the doorway.
?Hey, come in Tetsu, Haido.? He opened the door wider as he let them both in.
?Make yourselves at home. I?ll just get my guitar. Tetsu started to open the
case his Bass was in and Hyde stood in the middle of the carpet looking around.
Tetsu smiled and started laughing.
?You can sit down you know.? He nodded towards a chair next to him. Hyde smiled
back shyly.
?God I?m so nervous.? Hyde whimpered. Tetsu went up to him and prodded Hyde in
the chest.
?Awwww, little Haido?s scared!? Hyde stuck his tongue out childishly and shook
his head.
?Nu-uhh, am not Tet-chan so there.? Hyde went and sat down but not before
sticking his tongue out at Tetsu once more. Ken came back and plugged his
electric guitar into the sound system behind Hyde. He turned the volume down low
and then did the same for Tetsu. Tetsu plucked one of the bass? strings and
smiled as he let the note waver on.
?Right, Haido.? He said, setting down his bass and getting a piece of paper out
of his pocket. He opened it out and Hyde looked at it carefully. ?That?s a piece
of music I ?? Ken cut him off.
?Duh.? Ken put on a stupid face ?Haido, pay no attention to Tet-chan ? he?s a
little dim.? Hyde laughed and then looked back at Tetsu. Tetsu continued
talking.
?As I was saying before someone interrupted me. That?s a piece of music I wrote
a few days ago. I was wondering if you could write the lyrics to it.? Tetsu
smiled encouragingly.
?Um . . . Okay ? but it won?t be much good.? Hyde took the pen Ken gave him and
started writing. Tetsu and Ken were talking quietly and laughing.
After about 3 quarters of an hour Hyde set down the pencil and viewed the paper
with pleasure.
?There finished!? He called, getting the other men?s attention.
?What?s it called now then?? Ken asked, he plucked a guitar string.
?Taste Of Love.? Hyde answered. The song was for Tetsu, he made him feel so
great.
?Cool, let?s see.? Tetsu took the paper before Ken could see it. It was so
beautiful! Tetsu looked at Hyde.
?It?s . . . Great!? Hyde glowed with satisfaction. ?Now to see what it sounds
like, eh?? Tetsu said.
They all started playing, from the first word Hyde sang Tetsu felt he would
have the perfect band. When it was finished Hyde was looking nervous.
?That was perfect! Great! Woo-Hoo!? Tetsu started jumping up and down like a
little kid. Hyde laughed and wanted to say ?just like you? but stopped himself.
Hyde started jumping too and before long they all were.
They all walked into Ken?s little kitchen and then Hyde ran to the cooker.
?Ooh, can I cook? Please!? Hyde asked, hopping from one small foot to the
other.
?Okay, if you want.? Ken laughed. Tetsu and Ken sat down at the table and
started talking again. Hyde started making Rammen and before long he had set it
on the table.
?Mmmmm! It smells delicious Haido!? Tetsu said, leaning forward to dip his
finger in the hot food.
?Just wait, you greedy pig!? Hyde stuck his tongue out at Tetsu and started
serving the food into bowls. Ken looked from Hyde to Tetsu and smiled cheekily.
?You, know . . . You two would be a good couple.? His smile still remained.
Tetsu coughed on his Rammen and looked up and Ken. Hyde dropped and spoon in the
bowl and Rammen splashed everywhere.
?W-what?? Tetsu asked. Ken broke into loud peels of laughter. Hyde pushed him
lightly on the shoulder and stuck his tongue out at Ken.
?Don?t be nasty Ken!? He shouted in mock anger. Before long they were all
laughing.
