- Part 1 -

Screams, cheers, shouting -- just some of the forms of applause that could be heard outside Tokyo Dome; let alone inside of it.  Four men smiled as they bowed and waved full heartily at their fans.  Taking a final bow, they headed themselves backstage to their dressing rooms.  Within fifty minutes, they emerged.

"Finally! Officially a three month take off!," exclaimed Ken who stretched; yawning tiredly.

"Don't get too cocky," said Tetsu getting on the bus

"as soon as the break is over we have to work on our new album."  Ken groaned.

"You always have to stomp my sunshine, Tetsu."

"Hey, that's what best friends are for."

Tetsu chuckled and then smiled; a smile people always appreciated when they saw because every smile Tetsu bore came from the heart.

Ken chuckled, "Yeah, I know."

Yukihiro, bored because he had no chocolates or candies whatsoever to eat, changed the subject to Hyde's love life.  "So Hyde, what will you be doing for three months? Snuggling up with Megumi, I suppose?"

Hyde's creamy white face slightly came into a blush; this meant Yukihiro had pondered the right subject.  "Well as you know, Megumi and I suppose to be getting married December twenty-fifth of two thousand, but we've planned everything so throughly." Hyde paused. "So we've both decided to move the date to May 3rd of this year, which is three days from now."

/So that's why we've been practicing so early.../ Tetsu's mind swam with this thought and many others, not knowing whether he should cry or hide how upset he was while he was among the presence of his fellow bandmates/friends.

Hyde noticed Tetsu's awkward silence and poked him playfully. "What's wrong Tet-chan?"

Tetsu, who was staring out of the window at the moonless sky, turned around, placing a very bitter frown of his face; one that was never seen before on his features. "Don't Hyde. Don't even ask me am I okay. Don't you have that bitch, pardon me, fiancee to tend to anyway?"

-(insert tension here; lol)- Tension between Hyde and Tetsu was very apparent and neither Yukihiro or Ken wanted to interfer in it; they feared their heads would be removed instantly.

Noticing Hyde wasn't responding, probably because of overflowing anger that needed one more spark, he added, "Wait, I'm sorry, that was an understatement." That was just the spark needed.  The bus stopped; they were in the studio parking lot.

"Oh dear Tetsu, don't talk about youself like that; it's such negativity against yourself." Tetsu grunted. "Chipatama."

Hyde chuckled bitterly, "I always knew I had one but I didn't know my head was made of one.  Thanks for bringing that to my attention."

"Bakayarou."

"Kuso shite shinezo."

Tetsu raised an eyebrow /Did he just tell me to die shitting? It doesn't matter how grim the situation gets, he always has that child in him -- and it shows. That's my weakness; I can never stay mad at him... even now, I'm not really mad at him, just the fact that I'll loose him forever./

"This is not worth wasting my precious time over," mutter Tetsu, who emerged from his seat and got off the bus heading toward his car; his rolling luggage behind him.

/What's wrong with Tetsu? He would never act this --/ It struck Ken what was going on with his friend.

"I'm going to have Tetsu drop me off, and maybe I can straighten this out with him; see what provoked him to say what he did about Megumi. Ja," Ken then got off the bus before the other two band members could respond and made a run for Tetsu's Miata, luckily catching Tetsu's attention before he drove off.

"No, I don't mind giving you a ride home," said Tetsu before the words could form out of Ken's mouth.  Instead, he shrugged.

Silence.  Ken then took out a cigerette. /This should get Tetsu to say someth-/

"Don't even light it, Ken.  You know my car rules."

"Oh yes, your highness."

Silence settled back in place.  Stretching longer and longer, Ken got annoyed at Tetsu's lack of conversation. "So, what was with the Megumi bish thing?"

Tetsu glanced at Ken and then focused back on the road. "Ken, this is a free country, meaning a thing such as freedom of speech does does exsists  here.  So by me saying what I did earlier, I was voicing out my opinion." Tetsu's tone of voice sounded annoyed, but not spine chilling like it was earlier.

Ken sighed at Tetsu's poor excuse of how he really felt. "You just don't want Hyde to get married; am I correct?"

Silence.  This confirmed Ken was indeed right.

"Ken get over here! Jerusalem Rod are about to start performing!"

"Kami-sama, why don't you just ask her out, Tetsu?!" asked Ken, but ended up sighing, seeing that Jerusalem Rod had already started performing meaning Tetsu would be unfathomable to anything else but them for the next five minutes or so. Around twenty-five minutes later, the favorite hangout was closed for the night.

"Oi, Ken, I left my wallet," said Tetsu worriedly.

"Buy a new one then," said Ken lazily, yawning; he was dragged back in anyway.

"Damn this place looks like shit," said Ken flatly as he lit a cigarette and leaned against a wall nearby to where Tetsu was searching.

"Well foul mouth Kenny," Tetsu chuckled when Ken almost choked on his cigarette -- he hated it when Tetsu called him 'Kenny' and the matter of the fact was, he didn't use that much profanity.

"You contributed to making it this way and I don't see you help --"

"Excuse me, does this wallet belong to you?" Looking up to see if the wallet was his to claim, he also so the owner of the voice -- the guitarist of Jerusalem Rod.  Tetsu was dazed.  He couldn't believe that this beautiful creature before him, this person he'd spent many nights dreaming about, was a guy.  Ken, cigarette fallen out of mouth from shock, looked at Tetsu intensely to see what his reaction was going to be.

"A-Arigatou; hai, it's mine," Tetsu stampered, trying hard not to stare as the guitarist handed him back his wallet.

"Irrashaimase."Long pause. "Are you Ogawa Tetsuya?" His voice suddenly sounded quite shy.

"You here that, Tetsu? You have a fan already," Ken winked mischievously.

"No actually, I've just heard of you.  When I looked in the wallet and saw the name, which I've heard from many of the people who come here ... they say you're starting a band, and I was wondering if I could try out to be the guitarist of it.  Jerusalem Rod will be disbanding up soon."

Tetsu glanced at Ken, who gave him a 'no way is he taking my position' look on him face.  "Well, to tell you the truth, we just got a new guitarist and aren't too keen on having a second one.  However, we do need a vocalist ... would you be up to try out for that position?"

He shyly shook his head no.

"Oh come on! I'm sure your voice is great!" Tetsu smiled; that irresistible smile.

"Alright, then. I'll give it a try." The shy expression on his face turned to a child-like smile as he started to thank Tetsu gratefully.

"So when can you have me over?" Tetsu looked through his electronic planner.

"Tuesday.  Could you write your name and number down though just in ca --"

"Sure!" He interrupted as he scribbled down the information on a small piece of paper.

"Thanks again and I'll see you Tuesday," said Tetsu, heading toward the exit door along with Ken.

"Ditto!" was the faint response when he walked out of the favorite hangout.

After looking at the piece of paper, Tetsu looked up at the stars dreamily and said dazedly, "His name is... Hideto..." Ken cocked his head toward Tetsu; disbelief evident in his features.  Now, after finding out that this Hideto was indeed a male, Tetsu still liked him... in fact, Ken believed it was more than that, that it was love...

"Tetsu, I know you love him, but you cannot do anything about the situation.  Hyde is happy with Megumi and is finally about to settle down... you can't possibly call yourself waiting for him... saving yourself for him..."

Tetsu twitched.

"You don't want to end up a spinster, Tetsu.  Maybe you should get another girlfriend or something, get your mind off Hyde."

By now, Tetsu had stopped  at a red light.  He chuckled vehemently.  "Ken, did you actually have to go as far as saying I'm going to end up a spinster? Really, are you forgetting that I am still a male?"

No response.

"Well," he continued, "that answers my question.  Get another girlfriend, ne? Ken, everytime he have a talk like this, you tell me that; I don't want to be dating 'til I'm fifty years old, Ken! Take my relationship with Kaori for example: we lasted for four years, yet I broke it off... broke it off, Ken, because I didn't love her whole heartily.  Hell, I don't even think I loved her, more like I liked her as a friend.  Why? Because all I could see was Hyde, even now, that's all I see..." said Tetsu softly as he pulled in Ken's driveway.

Ken sighed.  "What on earth am I going to do with you Tetsu?  Well, we'll get together on this some other time -- soon.  Until then, ja," said Ken as he emerged from the sports car, motioning toward the door of his three-storied house.

"Ja.  And thanks for being the concerned friend you are."

Ken nodded.

"See you tomorrow, Kenny." Before being called 'Kenny' could sink in, Tetsu drove off, in fear of what Ken might do when he figured it out.

/It's nice to talk to someone like Ken about my issues... at least I can trust him/

Tetsu heaved a sigh, and turned on the radio, suddenly beaming when he heard 'Butterfly's Sleep.'

"Okay, and that was Butterfly's Sleep by one of the most popular japanese rock bands, L'Arc~en~Ciel.  Boy, can that Hyde sing! The whole band is great though.  Too bad ladies, Hyde is hitched up ad getting --" Tetsu arubptly turned off the radio before the DJ could say the 'big m word.' Officially depressed, Tetsu decided not to go straight home and to instead meet a new friend -- liquor.
