Adding the Aluminium Panels

The kit comes with a pile of aluminium sheet which must be riveted to the chassis to provide strength and to act as weather proofing. In some cases the panels are correctly sized and are ready for drilling and riveting. In others they must be trimmed, shaped and provision made for access holes to suspension pivot bolts. (e.g. the seat back.)

These are the rear hubs supplied for the independant rear end. The shafts which attach these hubs to the half shafts were not initially supplied but have since arrived. Warning: Despite what the brochure says, the half shafts, rear callipers and handbrake cables are not supplied with the kit.

I particularly like the look of the nice shiny aluminium against the green frame. In the places where the panels had to be formed around the round side bar, the boys did an excellent job. It really looks very neat.
