Zephyrs around the world
Ulf Remper from Sweden has this to say about his '63 MkIII Estate:

"The interior of the '63 Estate has suffered badly from standing in a field for 25 years, and since the car has been used as some kind of garbage can, the floorpan has rusted quite bad in the rear footwells.

The worst (?) part is that at some point the previous owner apparently had the idea that the car needed a respray and decided that it would be a good idea to start with stripping the roof of the original paint.

It´s rough! a seized engine and two bullet holes - yes - bullet holes! complete the picture of my illness!

If you look closely at the rear left wing you can see one of the holes. The other bullet went through the right taillight lens.

If I´ll ever make a car of the estate I don´t know, but at least it has a good gearbox and rear axle....

One week after I´d hauled this wreck home, I got in touch with the owner of the other estate I managed to locate here in Sweden. It turned out to be a dark blue, driveable -64 automatic! Even rarer!

Maybe if I win a lottery or something...."

Ulf also has a MkII, and he says………

"By the way, in this picture the -57 looks worse than it is, and it´s complete apart from the hood ornament which had to be removed sometime during the sixties when the government decided that those things could injure people if you hit them with your car!

What the rest of 1.3 ton of British steel could do to a human body was something that they didn't worry about………………."
From the Canary Islands
These MkIII Zephyr 4 and MkIII Zodiacs are owned by Juan Carlos Gutierrez, he says:

"I live in one of the two main islands of Canary Islands and here there are only 3 Zephyrs and 2 Zodiacs on the road.

Maybe there are some hidden in garages or farms....."
From Sydney, Australia
Anton Ivancic writes:

"My 1959 Zephyr Zodiac Mk.2 Convertible with a straight 6 engine from 1961 (according to the serial numbers)
I bought it in February 2001 from Charlie Pisani, who with the help of his panelbeater and upholsterer sons,
converted it from an original 4 door sedan into a convertible. Charlie has a Mk.2 Ute (restored) and has recently sold a restored Mk.3. He's a real Zephyr nut.
When Charlie found it, it had sat in a garage for 17 years and they needed to dig the dirt away from the garage to get it out. The original owner (an elderly lady who was wheelchair bound) was unable to drive it."

"A magnificent conversion, great fun to drive and a real head turner."
Now for something completely different!
From Sweden, this aluminium boat was built by the Becker's ship yard at Lidingo, Stockholm in 1960.

It is owned by Bengt Leksell, who writes:

"I repainted the hull in 1990 and in addition I put on a "fake" teak deck.

The boat has two berths in the front and a gas cooker, which means you can nicely spend a weekend afloat.
The engine is a Ford Zephyr MkII, cooled by seawater, as the Baltic sea has only around 0.5% salt, this explains why it has not yet corroded to pieces, however, every year one or two frost plugs corrode and need replacing.

The petrol pump is mechanical, I guess the same as in a car, and two petrol tanks with a total volume of 70 litres, allow for a decent operating range.

The boat consumes around 1 litre per nautical mile, and has a maximum speed is around 18 knots on a good day and not too many people on board.

The water season in Sweden is between early May and mid September, and in the winter the boat is stored on land under a cover as are almost all other private boats in Sweden."
Zephyr MkIV Police car with Ferguson 4WD that belonged to the late  Mike Frankovich of the USA, on the set of the BBC TV police drama series "Z Cars"

22 of these cars were produced for evaluation by the Police in the UK and it is believed that this is the only one surviving that actually served as a Police car.

There is another in the UK that was used by the Transport & Road Research Labratory for test purposes. That vehicle has been restored as a Police car by it's present owner.

Pictured behind the car are some of the cast of Z Cars.
