Ingredients : Tamarind paste/extract, salt, oil, mustard seeds, methi seeds(1 tsp), urad dhal(1 tsp), channa dal(1/2 tsp), toor dhal(1/2 tsp), dry red pepper(5), asafoetida powder.
In a hard bottomed vessel,
saute mustard seeds, methi seeds, urad dhal, channa dhal, toor dhal,
red pepper and asafoetida in 2 spoons of oil.
After the mustard splitters
and the other grains are roasted, add tamarind extract/paste and
water.
Add salt(2tsp should
be fine).
After this boils well
for 5-10 minutes, add a spoon of sugar or jaggery.
Add rice flour dissolved
in a spoon of water for consistency and thickness.
Garnish with curry
leaves.
