                                     Sambaar/Kuzhambu varieties

(Sambaar and Kuzhambu are basically different methods of preparing lentil soup to be had with cooked rice).
For most of these dishes,  tamarind should be soaked in hot water and salt for half an hour and the juice extracted.   The easier way out would be to dissolve a spoon of tamcon paste in water.
