In the four states of Southern India,  Tamilnadu, Andhrapradesh, Karnataka and Kerala,  a light snack is normally taken with tea/coffee in the evenings..  The dishes given along side are  not just of S.Indian origin,  but also those which may have other their roots elsewhere,   yet they are a part of everyday cuisine in Southern India.
