RIVERMAYA
HOMEPAGE
the album

The band has released three albums already.
The first album was RiverMaya's self-titled album.  It released four songs including "Ulan", "Awit ng Kabataan", "214" and "Bring Me Down".
The second album was entitled, "Trip".  It has released songs like "Himala", "Panahon na Naman", and "Kisapmata".
The latest album, "Atomic Bomb," was a major hit in Metro Manila.  They released the third and
latest album on January 31, 1997 with all the 12 power-packed cuts.  It is equally divided into
English (6 cuts) and Filipino (6 cuts). There is even a bonus cut on the CD.  The songs were
written by Rico Blanco, Nathan Azarcon, and Bamboo.  It features a song -- Saturday (Bakit
Ako?) -- with the lead vocals of Nathan Azarcon and Mark Escueta -- with Bamboo and Rico
backing up. In short, the whole band sings on this song.  Two of the songs -- Luha and If --
feature string arrangements by Mel Villena. These were played by six-piece string section
composed of members from the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.

Recording began in July buy went into full swing by October.  Altogether the album took some
4 months to prepare.  The band worked through the Christmas season -- even on December 24 -- to finish the album on time.

The first carrier single was "Hinahanap-Hanap Kita", written and produced by Rico Blanco.  The
second single, just released to Monster Radio RX 93.1 , is "ELESI".
