Bobbi & Danielle are litter mates.  As with JimJim & Courtney, we acquired Bobbi several months before Danielle.

EJ has always wanted a Manx.  I have always wanted a Siamese (well, since Jimmy passed away).  Our veterinarian found out about a couple that had allowed their full breed Siamese female mate with their full breed Manx male.  We were elated!  We were both going to get what we wanted...in one cat!

Approximately one month after these kittens were born, we got horrible news.  The owners had decided it was too much noise & mess, so they had literally tossed the mother cat & her kittens outside to fend for themselves!  The nerve!!  Anyway, all the kittens were gravely ill.  They all had a calci-virus & our vet really wasn't sure they'd make it.

Finally our veterinarian was able to go in & get the kittens & bring them back to his hospital.  He worked with them for several weeks, finally positive that at least one of the kittens would survive.  That one kitten was Bobbi.  We went & picked her up as soon as possible.  She was still sick & had to have antibiotics & eye cream daily.  Her eyes watered (still do) constantly.  But, she was rolly polly & so cute!  She has absolutely no tail.

A few months after bringing Bobbi home, EJ came running thru our door telling me about this beautiful marble kitten they had in at the vet's.  We grabbed our carrier & took off.  Upon arriving at the vet's, we found out the marble kitten was already adopted out...he left just minutes after EJ had been there.  (He didn't run adopting the kitten past the vet because he wanted to make sure it was OK with me.)  This was OK with us...we just wanted to be sure the kitten was given a good home & it was.  However, sitting in the front office in a cage, was Danielle.  She was the last kitten from that litter.  They had all survived!  Danielle looked pitiful, but she appeared very happy & active.  We took her home that evening.

At first, Bobbi really didn't like her.  We had gotten a different kitten for Bobbi to grow up with (at the time, Bobbi's siblings weren't well enough to be adopted).  So, Bobbi had bonded with
Gabrielle instead.  It didn't take long, though, & the 3 "little" girls were romping around together.

Danielle had eye surgery about a year ago.  Her 3rd eyelid on her right eye never grew properly, due to the calci-virus both sisters (and Gabrielle!) have.  She's absolutely gorgeous now!  Although, all 3 girls have VERY watery eyes.

Danielle has a half-tail.  She uses it very dramatically.  She's constantly "wagging" it like a puppy.  Bobbi looks like a pure breed Manx in every way, but size.  Danielle has many more Siamese traits (including her voice) than Manx, but her half tail gives her away.  Ha!
