Andy came to live with us when he was 4 months old.  The neighbor kids came running over to our house & told us there was a little kitten in the next door neighbor's driveway.  They said he looked really sick & his eyes were "yukki".  I went & picked Andy up & instantly fell in love.  The poor little guy was sick, but even though he had a horrible upper respiratory infection & awful little eye infections (he gave me pink eye!), he purred & laid his little head against me.  I knew he was going to be the new addition to our home.  We already had 2 cats, (Jack & Jimmy, both deceased) & I knew they would love my little Andy!  I was right!

Andy became an instant family boy.  After a couple days of antibiotics, he played & played & played!  Any piece of paper left on the floor was instantly claimed by Andy as his "new bed."
He was so funny!  And, so happy!

Andy's a real Mommy's boy now.  His favorite spot is in Mommy's lap.  He also has to go to bed with Mommy.

Name: James Andrew
Nickname: Jamie
Birthdate: May 20, 1994
Fav. Toys: Laser light, plastic milk carton rings
Weight: 14 Lbs.

Jamie was a feral cat from our neighborhood.  The night my Jimmy died, I talked my brother into helping me catch Jamie.  We used Pizza King pizza & I got him to take some from my hand & my brother snuck up behind & scooped him up.  Jamie started purring as soon as my brother had him secure in his arms.  Don't get me wrong, Jamie was scared...REALLY scared.  The poor baby shook all the way back to my house.  As soon as we got into the house, Gabe (my brother), put Jamie down & he started checking everything out.  Then he walked up to Andy & Jack & put his head down in the submissive, please clean my head, position.

Jamie was 6 months old.  It has literally taken 4-1/2 years to bring Jamie around.  He's still afraid of company & we can't walk by him if he's on the floor.  He feels threatened.  We think the local kids were abusive to him...probably kicked him.  He has a fear of feet.  However, he will walk up a stair or two, just so he's off the floor & allow us to approach him without any trouble.  He also enjoys cuddling on the couch in the evenings with us.  He's so happy to be inside & always have fresh food & water.  He has never even tried to go outside.

Autumn at 4 years.

Name: Autumn May
Nickname: Possum
Birthdate: August 1, 1994
Fav. Toys: Laser light, cat fishing pole, plastic milk carton rings, glitter balls, small sponge balls, furry mice, furry snake
Weight: 7 Lbs.

Autumn was a "gift" from my husband.  He was getting ready to leave for work one evening.  It was December 3rd in Indiana...very cold.  He walked out to his car & heard a little "mew."  There sat this tiny tortoise shell kitten right beside his car on the curb.  He called for her & she came right to him.  So, he scooped her up & brought her back into the house.  The conversation went like this:

"Here.  I think it's a girl."  Then he turned & left.  I immediately took her into the bathroom & set her up with fresh food, water, toys, blankies & a litter box.  About an hour later, EJ called from work.

"We aren't keeping her, are we?"

I said, "Her name's Autumn."

And, that's how Autumn became a part of our family.  She looked about 7 or 8 weeks old, but in reality she was closer to 4 months.  She may be small, but she leaves no doubt to the rest of the family that she's the Queen of the household!
