----Iguana Enclosures----

Here is one of my iguana's cages. This one was build particularly to fit in my summer cabin. The clear plexyglass side is made from a porch door. The other walls and door are made of wood and the top is made of 1/2 inch screen. I have assembled my heating lamps and my UVB flourescent light on top where my iguanas spend most of their time. They have a shelf to utilize more space in their cage and to be able to get closer to the heat source. A ladder allows easy access to their shelf and to their natural branch even higher up in their cage. |

This side view shows the wooden door. It has two hinges on top for easy lifting and access inside and two locks are installed on the bottom. The cage measures 4 1/2 feet long, 3 1/4 feet wide, and 3 1/2 feet high. Because we used spare materials, it kept the cost down. The wood was left over from another job, and the plexyglass was from an old door. It is not the prettiest cage, but my iguanas love it anyway. |

Here you can see Morticia and Gomez. They love their shelf. |
