Ramblings and comments- {starting from the top}
I really do like the 35th Anniversary Gift Set and feel very lucky to own it. I have opened a 35th blonde and one of the newer reproduction bubble cuts. I have a few old vintage fashions and how else are you suppost to show them off! Putting vintage clothes on a 98' Barbie® is tragic. Crystal Splendor Barbie® is such a beautiful doll and the price was very reasonable. I really like my Happy Holidays Barbies®, unfortunatly I don't have the whole set and my 88 is loose. I picked up the gold background 98 first and didn't even know there was a difference until my father got me one with a tree background for $15 at KMart, I had paid $40 for the other but I suppose I'm very lucky yo have it. Ich spreche mit Dir Barbie® is a Barbie® that my father picked up in Germany. She is a Teen Talk Barbie® that speaks german. I had to open her because I was advised to remove her batteries before they ruin her, but thats ok because I probably would never sell her anyways. The International Happy Holidays Barbie® 1995 really is a pretty doll and was a steal at a mere $33. My two Jewel Princess Barbies® were both purchased for under $20 and a whole year apart! I'm not sure if these just didn't sell well, or if I just got lucky. Moonlight Magic Barbie® is such a lovely doll for $20, but from what I read she was harder to get. I feel lucky to have her also. I am also a big Gone With The Wind® fan and have many collectibles in that area. I thought the Scarlett Barbies® were very nice but I paid $75 each for them and I feel that was too much. I didn't purchase a Ken as Rhett but later got one FREE from Kay Bee. The Sugar Plum Fairy Barbie® is probably one of my favorites. Her costume is well done.
My Summit Barbie® is actually what got me collecting. I was 10 years old and I wanted her sooo badly! My parents got her for me for Christmas and I loved her so much! I picked her up like she was so fragile and I NEVER took her outfit off. When I was done playing with her, I would wrap her head in toilet paper before putting her in my Barbie® case and packing her down well hehe. After that my Barbies® stayed in boxes (well, for the most part).
My 1st Barbie® was Western Barbie® I was one year old and I pulled her head off, what can I say? My parents didn't get me a Barbie® doll again until I was about three or four. {I have since purchased a NRFB Western Barbie®, and no, I'm not going to pull her head off this time!
