| On the 9th day, the butterfly hatches and crawls out of the folded leaf after breaking out of its pupa case. It dries its wings and is ready to fly off in about an hour. |

| The adult butterfly has distinct black spots on the underside of the hindwings and is quite unlikely to be confused with any other Malaysian/Singaporean species. The butterfly flies rapidly in the usual skipper fashion and stops with its wings folded shut. Here it was photographed on a discarded plastic bottle coated with sand near the beach at Desaru Resorts, Johor. |  |
