GKDesign specialises in developing prototypes for your robotics and electronics needs.
This site contains information about new technologies being developed at our labs. Visit this site frequently for updates on the various projects.
You can now download the Universal IR Controller for a PC source code and executable here --- IR1_1.ZIP (~30Kb) from the Electronics Australia web site.
The Biped progress report has been updated.
New links have been added to the links section.
The Universal IR Controller for a PC has just been published in the September issue of Electronics Australia. (Circuit & Design Ideas column pp.43.) Please note a correction to the published circuit diagram.
The circuit for the IR remote controller that was published in EA in Sep '98 was slightly incorrect. The correct circuit diagram appears at Universal IR Controller for a PC
The problem is in the LED driver section. No new components are necessary only two connections need to be corrected. The 18 Ohm resistor should not be connected to ground but rather to the output section of the 7405 open collector driver. And the anode of D1 should be connected to +5 instead of the 7405 outputs.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you again for your interest.
You can obtain the FREE test software by e-mail from us. Just e-mail gkd@cse.unsw.edu.au.
This simple circuit allows you to record any IR remote control signal on your PC, and then play it back. This is particularly useful if you want to control appliances such as TVs, VCRs CD Players etc., from your PC.
The DC Motor Drive Controller and the Solid State Oscilloscope articles are now again available with updated circuit diagrams.
More links added. You can now add your own link.
The CURI-5 Journal has been updated with progress images, and actually more progress has been made.
The links section has been added. This page contains many useful links for people interested in robotics and electronics.
The CURI-5 Journal This is a new section that will contain a running journal of the construction of a small robot. This site will be updated often with pictures and information on the progress.
