CHAPTER 4
Rachel and Cindy were busy trying to find pages 15, 16 and 17 of the magazine, which had magically disappeared in the pile of other pages. Karen was on the other side of the table with Lauren, and they were putting the remaining pages in order. Karen looked up and smiled. She elbowed Lauren.
"Ow! What?"
Karen didn't say a word and lifted her chin, pointing the entrance where the Boys stood.
"Ooh. I see." Lauren smiled. She put the paper she held on the table, and waved to the Boys, indicating them to come in.
The Boys approached the table. Cindy and Rachel still didn't know they were there. Suddenly Cindy's face lit up.
"Ha-ha! I found them!" She said, and crawled under the table.
The guys came near the table. They all had to hold back their laughter at the sight of Cindy on her knees under the table, picking up three pieces of paper. Lauren and Karen, on the other hand, didn't manage to control their laughs.
Rachel turned around to see what all this was about and found herself nose to nose with Nick. Well, not actually nose to nose... He was a bit taller than her.
"Hey there. Wassup?" He said.
Rachel remembered Cindy under the table and realized what Lauren and Karen found so funny. She started laughing too.
Brian crouched next to the table and poked Cindy on her shoulder.
"What?" She said without turning around. "The missing pages are here, I'm just picking them up."
She got up and looked at the person who poked her. It wasn't Rachel, like she thought it was, but Brian.
"Hi." He said, half-laughing, half-smiling. "Dusting the floor with your knees?"
"No... Well, yeah, actually. But that's not my main purpose. See what I picked up?" She said, brandishing the page in Brian's face. "An article on you. If I hadn't been on the floor, the magazine wouldn't have included an article about you."
"Oh, then, thank you so much." He said, laughing.
"That's fine. I just do my job!" She gave the pages to Lauren, who put them inside the rest of the magazine draft. She put the now-in-order pile of paper in a big envelope and looked at her watch.
"5:58. We're right on time."
