Backstreet Secrets

CHAPTER 7

Lauren got into the vent, then Cindy, Brian, Howie, Rachel, Karen and AJ. Nick and Kevin had some problems fitting in the vent, but they managed to squeeze themselves in. They crawled in a small tunnel for what seemed to them a long time, but they only covered a few meters.

Suddenly Lauren stopped and yelled loud enough for everyone behind her to hear. "I found another vent!"

She looked through the vent. There was a tiny windows on the wall across from her, providing the room with a bit of light, but it was still pretty dark. It was clear enough, though, to allow Lauren to see that the vent they'd have to get out of wasn't near the floor this time. It was all the wait up the wall, next to the ceiling.

"Ok, we've got a problem! Either we jump down, which isn't gonna be easy since we can't turn around to jump feet first, or we can try to crawl backwards and find another exit."

She heard a complaint from Cindy behind her. "No way! I'm not doing all that distance in the dust again, especially not backwards."

"Alright." Lauren said. "Then please suggest a way to get down, because I am NOT jumping head first. I'll kill myself."

"That's easy." Cindy said. "Do this." Lauren moved over to let as much light as possible get in the tunnel and looked and what Cindy was doing. She tried to turn around as much as she could and kicked Brian in the process. She stopped moving when she heard him yelp.

"Ow!"

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry! Don't stand so close. Did I hurt you?"

"Nah, not really. You only kicked my shoulder. It wasn't a strong kick."

"Good." She resumed trying to turn around, and she finally did it.

"See?" She said to Lauren. "It's possible to turn around."

"Ok, I'll try." Lauren replied. She squirmed for a while, then finally managed to turn around.

"Oh, shoot!" She said once she was done.

"What?"

"I forgot to open the vent before turning around..."
