Backstreet Secrets

CHAPTER 8

"Just kick it open!" Brian told her.

She did as he told her, and after a few missed tries, she finally got the vent opened. She slowly got out, holding at the edge of the tunnel until she was all out of it, then jumped down on the floor. Everyone followed her and soon the nine of them stood in a small, very dusty room.

"Well, something tells me you guys don't use this room..." Nick said.

"Good sense of observation, Sherlock." Lauren said with sarcasm. Nick was about to reply when Brian cut him off.

"We gotta get out of here. This building obviously hasn't been used in years, except for the two rooms that the girls use for the magazine. It may be dangerous to hang out here for too long. Who knows what's the ceilings state? It may fall on our heads anytime."

"Brian's right. There's a door over there, it must lead outside someway." Howie said.

"I guess so." Rachel said. "Well, nothing's like trying."

Nick opened the door and got in the next room. Lauren soon followed. Everyone came in the room. Brian came last and shut the down behind him. The room became dark.

"Oops, no windows here. I should leave that open."

Just when he finished his sentence, the floor cracked. Then it broke. They heard Lauren scream as she fell down, but knew that at least two people had fallen because they heard two thuds. The ones that had remained on top called out, trying to find who was missing.
