CHAPTER 5
Cindy stopped reading her book when she heard noise outside. "Lauren! I think the guys are here. I heard a car."
"We should go outside. They won't find the house."
"Okay, just wait for me." She took a bookmark and put in it her book to indicate her page, closed the book and got up. Lauren was already at the door.
The girls got out and saw Nick and Brian by the car. After hello's and hugs, the four of them took some of the guys'luggage and brought it inside.
"Thank God you were still up. Otherwise we would've had to knock at each door to find out which house was yours." Brian said.
"That's why we stayed up." Lauren said.
"It wasn't to welcome us?" Nick teased.
"Maybe a bit of that, too." She said.
The beach house had seemed big to the Boys from outside, and it turned out that it was indeed big - for a beach house. The door the had came in was in the middle of the hallway. In front of it was the bathroom door. The bathroom was large and spacey. "But there's only like a drop of water for the shower and the toilet's always clogged." Lauren added.
Down the hall there were the bedrooms. They were four of them. "We'll each take one." Cindy said. "The two last ones are mine and Lauren's. I'm on the left, she's on the right." Cindy's room wasn't small, but it seemed small because the bed in it was a king bed and it took up almost all the space. "When my family comes here on vacation, that's usually my parents bedroom." Lauren said.
Lauren's room was in front of Cindy's. It was a bit smaller than Cindy's, but it had bunk beds that didn't take much space in the room. "Usually I share this room with my sister. I sleep on top, but since I'm alone this time I sleep on the bottom bunk."
"Yeah, I noticed." Nick said, referring to the unmade bed.
Between the entrance and the girls' rooms, there were two other rooms. The one on the left was usually Lauren's grandparents' room. "For this week, it'll be Brian's though." She added. It was the biggest room.
In front of it was the smallest room. "This is mine, I guess." Nick said. The room was small but was comfy and nice. "I slept here a few times when I had the chance to," Lauren said. "I love this room. Usually, my uncle and his wife take it."
On the other end of the hallway, there was one big room, divided in two parts by a counter. One of them, the one at the back, was the kitchen/dining room. The other one, spacious, was the living room. There were 4 couches, a television, board games and a bookshelf. There was also a fireplace in the living room, and the fire was lit.
"Fire?" Brian said. "It's the beginning of August!"
"It gets cold here during the night. We'll put it out before going to sleep."
"Yeah, I'm freezing." Nick said. "And I'm tired. Sorry to leave you guys like that, but I'm beat."
"It's alright, we're going to sleep to." Cindy said.
She put out the fire and everyone went to their room.
