Nick arrived at the airport at 1:50. Of course the plane hadn't come in yet. Planes are either right on time or late, but never early. He sat down in a chair and waited.

Nick was thrilled at the idea of seeing Lauren again. She was a fantastic girl. Beautiful, sweet, caring... He was totally crazy about her. But he knew she didn't love him back. She cared about him, he could feel that. But she wasn't in love with him. She just loved him as a friend.

Maybe things would've changed if she had known how he felt. He had never managed to tell her. It had been like a year since he realized what he was feeling for her, but as far as Nick knew, the only one who knew about his crush on Lauren were Brian and Kevin. They both read Nick like an open book, and as soon as he fell in love with Lauren, they saw it. Brian kept telling Nick that he should tell her, but he just couldn't. He knew she didn't feel the same way. He doesn't know how he knew it, but he did. And he knew that somehow if she ever fell for him, he'd sense it.

Her flight came in at 2:10 PM. She got down the plane a few minutes afterwards. Nick was waiting for her at the gate. He saw her passing through the door and held his breath. She looked gorgeous. She was wearing a short dark skirt and a blue T-shirt. Her medium-length blond hair was loose on her shoulder. Nick waved at her. She smiled.

"Hey Nick!"

He hugged her. "Lauren! Oh, I'm so glad to see you!"

"Me too. How are you?"

"Fine. You? Exhausted?"

"Yeah. I'm jet lag."

"You poor thing. That's too bad cause I'll wake you up early tomorrow. You've only got two days here and you won't be spending them sleeping!" He smiled.

"I knew that. My family's nicer than you. They'll let me sleep when I'll go back home." She teased him.

"Maybe I'll let you sleep... But not too much. Wanna get your bags?"

She laughed. "Well, I'm not gonna leave them here!"

"Let's go then."
