Backstreet Secrets

CHAPTER 8

Nick drove the boat far from the island. About halfway to the house, he stopped the motor and threw the anchor in the water.

"Here?"

"Yeah, sure. Water is really just water, you know... Here or a few miles further away doesn't make a big difference to me." She smiled.

"Alright, alright..." He said, going inside the little cabin on the boat. He came out a couple of minutes later with two towels. He threw one at Lauren.

"There you go."

Lauren started to put on sunscreen. "You should put some on too. You'll get a lobster look."

"I don't burn. I'm used to the sun. I've been living in Florida almost all my life."

"Ok, don't come crying on my shoulder when you'll get skin cancer." She finished putting sunscreen on her arms and tossed him the bottle.

"Could you do my back please?"

"Of course." He put some cream on her shoulders and spread it down her back. He ran his hand on her skin and soon her whole back was protected against the sun. He didn't want to stop, the touch of her skin under his fingers made him feel so good. He wished she could accept caresses like that from him in circumstances other than a putting suncreen on her back. He reluctantly took his hand off her back.

"Thanks. You're sure you don't want me to put some on your back?"

Her hands running around on his back? Heck, yeah! But he had just told her he didn't want suncreen... Would this seem like he just wanted her to put it on him? And this would make him want Lauren even more. He didn't need the torture of having her touch him when he knew it wouldn't go any further.

"No, thank you. I'm fine."
