::begin rant::

Ok, I am *pissed* right now. Someone plagiarized one of my stories. Can't Trust Anybody was stolen, poorly modified and posted on fanfiction.net by "Nameless Friend". I emailed her, and she accused ME of plagiarism. Whatever. I know I wrote that story two years ago and I can prove it.

I broke grounds two years ago by publishing this story about male rape. Now these types of stories are written left and right. I took the crap, the "you're gross and disgusting and perverted" crap two years ago. Looking back on it now I think the caracter developpement in this story is poorly done, but the fact is that I'm proud of what I accomplished by standing up to my beliefs and publishing the story despite the critics.

The point is, I thought I'd make some stuff clear right now...

1) Plagiarism is not a compliment to the author. It's an insult and it hurts.
2) Plagiarism is illegal. My work is copyright and if I made money out of it, believe me I'd sue.
3) I have NOT stopped writing this story. Right now my interest is *NSYNC slash, but I still write Backstreet Secrets every now and then. The next story is almost done.
4) Even if I had given up on this story (which I have NOT), it's not posted here to be up for grabs.

How sad that my first post in months, and it has to be about that. There's so much plagiarism in boyband fanfic, it's not even funny. People don't seem to realize that it's REAL THEFT. That it's a crime. If you did this in college, you'd be expelled. If you were a published author, you'd get sued. Grow up and live in the real world.

Ok, don't hate me, but I haven't finished the next story yet. I did something very, very bad. Something I shouldn't have done. I started a new story. And it's a ::hides behind her desk:: *NSYNC story. Wait! Don't leave yet! And quit throwing stuff at your computer, it won't hit me. Let me explain. I recently (read a month or two) became an *NSYNC fan. Now, I still love BSB to pieces, I've just come to realise that *NSYNC are good too. They are not the talentless copycats I thought they were. And it makes me kinda sad that because of the BSB/*NSYNC rivalry I hadn't realised it before. They are incredibly talented. But, back to the point... I also am totally addicted to slash fiction. (Those who don't know, maybe you shouldn't ask). And since 'Backstreet Secrets' isn't slash, I lost interest in writing it. FOR A WHILE. I will, I repeat, I WILL finish the story. I still like this story and I want to finish it. As for the new story I am writing, it's not as long as 'Backstreet Secrets' is and should be over within a month. Afterwards, I'll get back here to finish 'Millennium'. In the meantime, if you like *NSYNC and slash fiction, email me and I'll send you the story. Warning: it's slash, it's NC-17 and it's about *NSYNC. Don't say I didn't warn you.

And if you're still mad at me, I want you to consider something else. Read the first story I wrote (The Meeting) and the few last ones. See the difference? I do. I'm getting better at writing. I totally see the difference in this new *NSYNC fic I'm writing. The writing gets deeper and I can express my characters' feeling a lot better. In my first stories, it was more like a script. Dialogue, descriptions... My writing goes beyond that now. And I can promise you a kick-ass story when I come back. I owe you no less.

I think I'm sick, I actually updated two days in a row. No new story though (I'm not superman here!) I got three awards and forgot to add them to the page yesterday. Thanks to all the nice people who gave them to me.

The Scars is finished! Wow, a new story already. It's only been two months. I'm getting better! As for the next story, don't expect it until at least a month. School finishes on May 19th and I highly doubt I'll have time to write it until then. But afterwards I'll have lots of free time (gotta love summer vacations! I may work, but still, no homework!) So this summer I hope to be able to write at least up to Episode 12 or 13 (Maybe I'll make these two episodes into one). In other news... I updated the synopsis. I'm trying to find a place to store the songs from the Backstreet Secrets soundtrack. I'm thinking about http://www.driveway.com or another place like that... I would also like to know if people prefer mp3's or Real Audios? Let me know! So, enjoy the new story and leave feedback!

A NEW STORY!!! Don't Cry Fallen Angel is up! See, I told you I'd update. Ok, last time I posted a story was last July, but still... I did update. I have made a couple of changes in the episode list. I added two new stories, cut two out. Added a couple of songs to the Backstreet Secrets soundtrack. I'm still missing songs from episodes 1, 2, 9, 11, 16, 17, 19, 22, 27 and 28. Anybody got an idea for #1 and #2 (since they're the only ones you've read so far)? I might add some sounds in the songs page soon. I also updated the FAQ. Please read it before sending me email. I must've been asked about 50 times why the links for the stories 7 and up didn't work on the main page. I also posted the results of the survey. I have changed the disclaimer before Can't Trust Anybody. I have put a most explicit warning so that people know what they're about to read. I realized the topic was shocking for many people so I have rated the story R. Be careful to read disclaimers on this website because if you thought that story was offensive you'll choke on some upcoming ones. I have one last message. This website, Backstreet Secrets, is a website on it's own. Many of you follow the link from another website, BSB International Fan Base, and seem to think the two websites are only one. They are two sepate websites. Also, some people have called me 'Lauren'. I'm not Lauren! She might be my main caracter but I'm not her. I know some fanfic writers write stories and put themselves as the caracters. I don't do that. Those who know me know that Lauren and I are very different. That's it for today. Please don't have me, but I haven't finished the new story yet. I've been so busy this past month! I started college, so the free time I had in the summer is gone (I babysat last summer and I wrote the stories while the kids played). I also have another website to work on. It's going to open in a month and I have a lot of work to do on it. I updated the FAQ, but I think it's not what you guys were looking foward to...

I started the new story, but so far I've not written enough of it to post a preview. It might be on the website on the next few days. In the meantime, I have added the description of the fifth episode to the synopsis. I have also added a survey. Please answer it! And please, please sign the guestbook!

I decided to add an update/message section, so that you know what's happening with this website. Well, I know it's been a while since the last update. But, I can't be in front of the computer every night writing this story. That's what I did for "Birth Of A Band" and "Can't Trust Anybody" and I felt like I needed to go out a little. I missed the three-dimension world. But anyways, I'm back. The new story is half done, there's a nice preview for you in the previews section. What else... Let's see, I updated the songs section and... well, that's pretty much it! See ya later!
