craig hui - 11/25/97 23:21:01 My Email:chui@ea.com | Comments: If man could travel in a car at the speed of light you could possibly see the light. All things travels in different speeds especially light. Light is made up of particles of luxons and tardons and is un-noticed by the human eye. Just because light is tra elling at the speed of light, doesn't mean that the lights from the headlights is travelling the same rate as the speed of which you're travelling. One could not distinguish the differences of each of those variables through the human eye. For example, i I'm in a car travelling at 50km/h but I fire a bullet from my gun it would exceed the speed in which we were travelling. I would say that you could possibly see your headlights if the two lights were travelling at different speeds. For example: its like ouncing a ball on moving train. The ball is still in motion with the momentum of the train but yet you would not notice that it is travelling at the same speed as the train and would only notice the speed of which the ball bounces! |

If it was possible, it will have no effect on your vision since the speed of light can not be reached exactly (Einstein), but if you traveled at .99999c and turne on the lights, the light's velocity is not added on top of the speed in which you are going. There is some funky formula for those kind of problems. I probably am taking this too literal. I don't have a humorous answer (yet), if that is what you were ltimately looking for. |
