Mysticism

The doctrine, fundamentally religious in character, that immediate knowledge and experience of God, or of ultimate reality, can be achieved by direct intuition or illumination, as opposed to the conventional modes of cognition by sense perception. The characteristic attributes of the mystical experience are self-transcendence, union or identification with the supreme power of the Universe, and a consequent feeling of exaltation or ecstasy. Mysticism is paradoxical in that it begins with an intensely personal quest for metaphysical or supersensible reality, often in defiance of traditional religious authority whether of church, creed, or scriptures, and ends by passing beyond individuality through integration of the self into an all-pervading Oneness.

Freud's semi-secret discovery, which is the basis of psychiatry, will be revealed!! Einstein's "Unified Field Theory" will be furthered. The history of Mysticism, from the time of the pyramids, The Upanishads, The Kaballah, to Christian Mysticism to the present day misrepresentations by various cults.

Pertinent books which touch on these topics shall be KINGS ROW by Henry Bellamann (1940), a wizard-like author who was a music professor at Juilliard. World famous Storyteller W. Somerset Maugham and his THE RAZORS EDGE about a person who sought the meaning of life and found it, after becoming a Mystic. This book was considered a 'fairy tale' in the 50's right up to the 80's. EUROPA (1936-37) and EUROPA IN LIMBO by Robert Briffault, the world famous bio-chemist turned author, whose books, at first caused a sensation in this country, then gradually stripped from all libraries because of his politics.

The Big-Bang like implosion of the highest form of Mysticism does lay within all people while today we know the magic ingredients towards this endeavor are, a serious desire to have a communion with God, meditation, concentration, fasting and isolation are the final steps to the goal.
