I always enjoyed what Claremont did with Magneto. The evil man changed to a sympathetic tragedy. The character was given dimension. It made him a complex man that the fans loved very much. I didn't mind when he turned to the good side and I didn't mind when he turned back. But what they are doing with him now is disgusting. First, the Onslaught thing then bringing him back younger with no memory. Only to rectify the situation with the real Magneto being an evil one dimensional character again. I hate it when they kill off characters but when they shunt years of characteriztion it really ticks me off. If they want to change him back to his evil ways give him a reason. Like Luna(his granddaughter) getting hurt. That will send him over the edge.
In XMEN: Brotherhood I bring that old three dimensional Magneto back. But he is not the only character. He forms a new Brotherhood of sorts and the other members are X-Men. Most of the bad apples anyway. Gambit, a professional thief but was Marauder in the past making him allies with the villain Mr. Sinister. Rogue was a member of the old Brotherhood in her younger years. She became an X-Men and followed the straight and narrow path. But something about Rogue bothered me. Especially when she got this latest costume. She reminds me of Ms. Marvel. So something happens to bring back to her roots. In other words big changes for Rogue. The good guy of the team is the Angel. He does not belong with this team at all. He is a super hero through and through, even if he did turn to the dark side once to became Death the Fourh Horseman.
This team travels a bit and tries to find a home. The triangle between Magneto/Rogue & Gambit is going strong. Rogue returns to her short hair double stripped punk look. Why is the Angel of all people hanging with this motley crew? Because he has always been my favorite Xmen and would make a great Avenger if they ever would need another Xmen to join!
BROTHERHOOD #1: These four Xmen are late to the party and are the only one's home when SHIELD comes knocking. Plus, Carol Danvers makes a visit as well.
BROTHERHOOD #2: Angel, Magneto, Rogue and Gambit run to Muir Island only to confront the suspicious former members of Excalibur! Magneto vs. Captain Britain, 'nuff said!
BROTHERHOOD #3: The four misfits try to hide out in San Francisco when they run into the devastating Graviton!
