The Second Story Without Sarah

D.D. (I'm back!)

All this reading has left me with a story on the tip of my tongue. It's a new one without Sarah, the little tramp. Let's have a go at this, shall we?

"I Wish the Goblins would come and take me away right now!" The voice echoed throughout the Underground.

Jareth looked up, curiously, from his throne. 'It seems I have a visitor,' he thought to himself. He smiled his vampire smile and summoned a crystal with a wave of his hand. He glanced at the girl lying quietly on the sandy ground outside the entrance to the Labyrinth. With a thought he transported himself to her.

Her senses told her that she was no longer in the comfortable hotel room that she had been staying in. Her senses also told her that she was about to discover that all her dreams were coming true. She smiled when she felt a shadow block out the sunlight above her.

"What do you want?" a bored voice asked.

She smiled and opened her eyes, looking up into the face she had longed to see for centuries. It wasn't as different as she had expected. He was still pale, and his face still revealed no age.

Jareth inhaled sharply, noticing a small tingle in the air. "You are of dark blood," he said sounding shocked. He finally, recognized the scent that he had almost learned to dismiss.

"And you're a vampire!" the girl exclaimed. She sniffed the air around him, standing up to do so. "A very weak vampire at that. You've almost lost your scent."

"Is that what the earth realm calls us?" Jareth asked with a smirk. "Here we call ourselves Dark Bloods." The Girl nodded with a thoughtful frown. "Now, must I ask my question again?" Jareth said, sounding impatient.

"What question?" The Girl asked innocently. Her long chestnut colored hair catching on a playful breeze. She glanced at the misbehaving strands of hair and pushed them back into place.

"I asked you what you want," Jareth said in tones closer to a growl.

Tiraina smiled coyly. "Other than you?" she asked flirtatiously. Jareth glared at her. She gave him an annoyed glance. "I want to stay here forever," she said coldly. "I hate Earth and all those there!" Her eyes flashed red and she angrily tossed her hair. Jareth smiled curiously at her anger. Tiraina smiled at herself and took a deep breath to calm down. "I will do anything to stay here," she said quietly, looking up into Jareth's eyes. "Whatever you want, all you need do is ask."

For a moment Jareth found himself getting lost in her eyes. He smiled as images of the dark chocolate color of her eyes mixing with his snowy blue and thought of a child who had just spilled his steaming hot chocolate into the snow. Jareth shook his head violently to clear away the images.

"Seducing me already?" he asked coyly. Tiraina returned his smug smile. "Just because you got lost in my eyes doesn't mean I'm trying to seduce you." She straightened he long, slim fitting satiny dress and brushed off the dust that had settled on her back with a shake. Jareth noticed how her curly locks seemed to blend into the coloring of the material. "Name your price," she said calmly.

"First, you must get through the Labyrinth," Jareth said with a shrug. "You have thirteen hours. Once you get to my palace we shall discuss the terms of your stay." Tiraina smiled smugly and shrugged. "Remember, thirteen hours," Jareth's voice echoed through the place he once stood.

Tiraina smiled and changed herself into mist form. She ordered the winds to blow her to the castle. Several seconds later she reappeared before a very astonished Jareth sitting in his throne. "Thirteen seconds would have been more of a challenge," she said with a smirk as she patted Jareth's cheek.
