"I'm a dude, she's a dude, he's a dude..." Taylor
smacked Zac in the head with his towel.
"Stop singing that song already! Jeez..."
Zac rubbed his head and laughed. "Whatever Taylor..."
Isaac, Taylor and Zac were coming home from practice.
They only stayed a few hours because they would be right back there,
after they had a break by going home.
"So, what do you want to do?" Taylor asked Isaac.
"I don't know...hang out I guess. It's really
hot..." He rolled up his window and turned on the air conditioner.
"I know! This heat is awful. I wish we had a
pool." Taylor looked out at the passing trees.
Zac flipped his cd player on to kill the time
on the ride home. He rested his head on the seat and closed his eyes.
"Hey look! We're almost to that cheesy movie
house!" Taylor observed with a smile.
Isaac laughed a little. "Yeah, but it's a cool
movie house...the movies make up the cheesy part though."
"Remember that one about the shopping cart that
killed everyone in the store! And it was 3-D!" Taylor just shook his head
and
laughed.
Isaac laughed too and made a right turn.
"Oh, slow up! I want to see what movie is playing!"
Taylor rolled his window down and hung his head out a little.
"The Flying Monkey!" He laughed and then he noticed
two girls standing on the sidewalk.
Isaac noticed too. "Hey, isn't that Phoebe and
Judy?"
Taylor squinted his eyes and looked again. "Yeah,
I think it is. Stop the van."
Isaac pulled over to the curb and parked. Taylor
hopped out and ran across the street and to the sidewalk.
Phoebe looked up and dropped her mouth open.
"Help us now!" Judy was still staring at the freaky cab driver.
"What's wrong?" Taylor asked when he got to her
side. He followed her gaze to the cab driver and jumped. He took her hand
and started to walk away from him.
"Hey! They owe me money!" He exclaimed to Taylor.
"Do you owe him money?" He whispered to them.
"No! He only drove five minutes to pick us up!
We were scared of him...I mean, just look at that face." Phoebe whispered
back.
"I see your point." Taylor coughed a little and
spoke up to the cab driver.
"They don't owe you any money sir. Now, we would
like to leave. If you bother us anymore, I will call the police."
The man sucked his breath in and huffed it right
out. "Fine! I shouldn't have to go through this trouble anyway!" He glared
and
Phoebe and Judy.
"Next time you need a cab, we won't be there
for ya!" He got in his taxi and slammed the door. They watched him drive
off,
and breathed a sigh of relief.
"I am so glad that you showed up here! How in
the world did that happen?" Phoebe hugged Taylor and waved at Isaac. Zac
was still oblivious to the whole scene.
"We were on our way home...so, we had to drive
by here. I noticed you guys and I told Ike to pull over. I'm glad we did!"
Judy smiled at him. "So, not only are you a performer,
but a hero too?" She giggled a little.
He smiled. "I'm always saving the day...it's
just something that I like to do. The real reward is the effect I have
on my..."
"That's enough Taylor." Phoebe smiled and lightly
pushed him.
"Hey, I wasn't done yet!"
"I had to stop you before that ego of yours exploded!"
She laughed and hung her arms around his neck while they walked over
to the van.
"What was that all about?" Isaac asked when they
reached the door.
"Crazy cab driver...that's about it!" Judy answered.
Isaac just shook his head. "Like we are living
in New York City!"
They all laughed and got in the van to go home.
Phoebe and Judy walked into her house and welcomed
the rush of cold air. That was always a nice feeling.
"We had an interesting time, huh?" Judy asked,
going into the kitchen.
"For real! That's something you can tell all
of our friends when you go back home." Phoebe went to the fridge to make
them
some drinks.
"That was so cool how Taylor came to our rescue!"
Judy exclaimed.
"I know! That was awesome. See, I told you he
is always there for me in one way or the other." Phoebe handed her some
soda.
"So, now what?" Judy asked.
"How about we go look at some pictures together?"
Phoebe suggested.
"Sure! That sounds cool."
"Follow me." Phoebe led her into their living
room to get some albums.
:::Later That Night:::
"...and my mom bought me this." Joey pulled out
a pack of stickers and handed them to Jessica. Jessica was over their house
to
spend the night.
"Joey! Those have my brothers on them!" She made
a funny face at her. "Since when did you decide to post pictures of them
in
your room?"
Joey laughed. "Well...I think your brothers are
cool. Hey, at least I LIKE them."
She pulled out one of her stickers and admired
it.
"I'm going to save these and stick them on my
notebooks for school." She sat them in her shoebox full of stickers.
Jessica sighed. "At least you have something
to put on your notebooks. I hate all the stickers I get. They're like teacher
stuff."
Joey laughed. "Well, want some of mine?" She
opened her box back up and started digging through.
"Ok, thanks!" Jessica looked with her as well.
A minute later, there was a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" Joey asked.
"It's me."
"It's open."
Maddy opened up the door and stepped inside.
"What are you two doing?" She looked at the box of stickers.
"I am giving Jessie some cool stickers."
Maddy smiled and then noticed the Hanson stickers.
"When did you get those?" She pointed to them.
"Oh, mom picked them up for me." She handed the
pack over to Maddy.
She took them and looked at the different ones.
She smiled when she pulled out a great one of Isaac.
"Oooo, Maddy's going to put that one on her wall!"
Jessica exclaimed with a fit of giggles.
"Oh stop it...I was just looking at it." Maddy
slid the sticker in and handed it back to Joey.
"Ok, you can have it." Joey said a moment later.
Maddy grinned and took the sticker back out.
"Thanks. Oh by the way, Zac called you a little
while ago."
Joey's heart jumped. "How come I didn't hear
the phone ring?"
"You were outside playing with that freaky flower
water hose thing."
"Oh yeah." Joey and Jessica had been out in the
back yard playing with the water hose in the their bathing suits after
dinner. It
was still very hot then.
"Well, what did he say?"
Maddy smiled. "He just wanted to talk. Oh, and
he said to call him back tomorrow afternoon."
Jessica rolled her eyes. Zac...
"Ok thanks." Joey blushed a little and looked
back at her stickers.
"I'm gonna go see Ike tonight. They invited me
over for a movie. Is that all they do, Jessie?" She said.
Jessica laughed. "They are movie buff's that's
for sure! What movie will you be watching?"
"Um, I think they said 'Good Will Hunting'."
"Darn! I wanted to see that!" Jessica whined.
Maddy laughed. "Too bad silly girl. I'll see
you guys later tonight. Don't stay up too late now, ok?"
"Yeah..." Joey had made a pile and was organizing
them.
"Bye Maddy and tell Zac that I'll get him for
keeping that movie a secret!" Jessica grinned.
"Ok I will!" She closed the door and left them
to their stickers.
"I still can't believe this Tisha!" Macy spit
her gum out of her mouth. They were sitting in front of Macy's house on
the curb.
"Like, I know! We were totaly humiliated! I will
never forget that." Tisha stared at the empty candy bar wrapper that she
held
in her hands.
Macy sighed. "We always win! Ugh...this sucks."
They still hadn't gotten over the scene in the Hanson's backyard.
"And we even paid Luke to do that! I used like
all of my allowance money!"
"I know! And for nothing."
"Well," Macy smiled a little, "...we did get
to tie up Ike and wet that other girl."
Tisha laughed. "Yeah, we did!"
They sat in silence for a few moments.
"What are we going to do now? I'm bored! That
was SO fun!" Tisha stood up and stretched.
Macy shrugged. "Who knows...maybe one day we
will get REAL revenge."
Tisha rolled her eyes. "They'd just kill us or
something." She sat back down.
"True...we might as well just give it up." Macy
rested her head on her knees.
"Really..."
"But..."
"What?"
"Nevermind...I just need to stop thinking."
Tisha smiled a little and stared at the curb
on the other side of the street. She noticed a blue flyer laying in the
road.
"Be right back." She stood up and ran over to
pick it up.
Macy sighed again. She didn't understand her
feelings. She liked Zac, but then she hated him sometimes. Maybe it was
because
she couldn't have him.
Tisha returned and laughed. "Isn't this odd...a
Hanson flyer for their new, but old album." She handed it over to Macy.
"It's a good pic though..." She commented after
reading it.
"Yeah, it is." She plopped back down beside Macy.
They looked at each other.
"We are giving in to the Hanson mania, huh?"
Macy nodded.
"Look out...here comes the obsession." Tisha
folded the flyer and stuck it in her backpocket.
