Devin
Aisling is the pen name I use for my poetry. In Gaelic, Devin Aisling
means poetic dream. The pen name I use for all my other creative
writing is Corvi the Crow. Corvi comes from a nickname a dear friend
gave me. After reading one of the many books about the Legend of
King Arthur, I added "the Crow," after a character whose father called
her Corbie Crow.
I am an eighteen year old poet, born in Canton, Ohio. My ancestry includes
Irish, Scots, Welsh, and Cherokee. Some of my
many interests include writing poetry,
reading,
playing guitar, listening to almost all types of music,
singing,
acting,
ballet, Irish step, Celtic
society and myth, and fantasy. My favorite animals include anything
from the feline family. I rescue abandoned cats... I have eight cats and five kittens right now. Seven cats are females named Tori, Micah, Luna, Ariadne, Natalia, Angel, and Donia. The male is named Azriel. Four kittens are too wild to catch, but one is a sweet grey female named Starr. Take a look at some pictures of my kitties. I design web pages for fun and (hopefully... someday...) for profit. I have designed several of my own, including this one, and one for my mother's business. My fledgeling company is called Rhiannon Concepts. E-mail
Rhiannon_Concepts@yahoo.com
if you are interested in my design services.
I homeschool. I am enrolled in a correspondence school called American School. I am finishing my 12th grade year. I plan to go to DeVry in Columbus, Ohio, to major in computer science.
Currently, I am preparing my collection of poems for publication.
The collection will be called "Devin's Kaleidoscope." It contains
over 100 poems divided into five sections. Nature contains poems
on (duh!) nature. Mystical Pathways contains poems about mystical
thoughts, feelings, and visions. Poetic Ramblings includes poems
about my innermost thoughts, and a few random poems. Moments of Darkness
covers poems on depression and death. A Tempest of Love discusses
the absolute joy of being with the one you love and the heartache that
discord can cause. If you would like to be notified when Devin's
Kaleidoscope is finally published, e-mail DevinAisling@yahoo.com.
I also write and edit a newsletter about literary techniques called "Mightier
Than the Sword."
I have several poems published by the International Library of Poetry. "Gabby" was originally published in May 1997 in Touched by Grace and again in January 2001 in Nature's Echoes. "Different" was first published in July 1998 in the anthology Above the Clouds, and again in Nature's Echoes in January 2001. "Sweet Butterfly Me" was first published in June 2000 in Awaking to Sunshine and again in Nature's Echoes in January 2001. "Inquisition" and "By Light of the Moon" were both published in January 2001 in Nature's Echoes. "Dreamscapes" was recently accepted for publication, though I can remember when it is to be released.
Take a look at my Photo Gallery and meet some of my family and friends.
Well, luv you all... Devin.
