welcome to the indie music webring, a webring dedicated entirely to those bands which can be defined as "indie". the definition is extremely broad, and sometimes quite vague, however, if you think that your site may fit in amongst this ring, go right ahead and join!
viva la reine [ indie music webring ]
sites which could be included included music/film/literature sites dedicated to indie pursuits, usually the beautiful music. bands i consider to be indie are as follows: the smiths, morrissey, blur, suede, pulp, lush, ash, ride, my bloody valentine, saint etienne, stereolab, björk, the sugarcubes, radiohead, portishead, kate bush, the cure, echo and the bunnymen, the go-betweens, the verve, etc. please keep in mind that this comes from the australian perspective, and what is considered "indie" in australia may be considered "goth" or "new-wave" or something else, elsewhere in the world.

while this ring does not seek to actively exclude any particular person or band, if a site applies to join the ring, and i find that there is any offensive material* contained within the site, i will not hesitate to delete their application.
[* by offensive i mean racist, sexist, non-gender inclusive language, homophobic, or containing any kind of religious fundamentalism etc.]

if your site meets these criteria, please join the indie music webring.

[ step 1 ]

please fill out the following form and submit it to the ring. *keywords and site description are NOT required, but i really do like to get them, as it makes adding your site a lot easier and quicker for me.

[ submit site to the indie music webring ]
[ site title ]
[ site url ]
[ e-mail ]
[ password ]
[ keywords ]
[ description ]

[ step 2 ]

once step 1 is complete, you will recieve a "site ID #".  you must then cut and paste the html code of the webring logo and add it to your page.  then, and this is VERY important, you must replace "ID#" with your assigned site ID# (this appears several times). you will also need to replace XXX@XXXXX.XXX with your e-mail address and replace your name with, well, your name.
the html code you will need is available here. simply copy and paste the code into your homepage [onto the page you nominate in the submission form]. go here to get the code.

* step 2 must be completed BEFORE entrance into the ring will be allowed!

[ step 3 ]

after the code is added to your page, e-mail the ringmaster to let him know that you have done so and ask him to add you to the ring.  you will then receive an e-mail confirming your entrance to the ring.
